Tip off from the topic latest spring. How about how many days can you plant your crop in today if

About 30 years ago I was still in high school and I took a week off of school to help plant and was running the air seeder. 5 days off of school and over both week ends on each end we planted the whole crop. That happened once.
Today with my equiptment I think it would take a few more days but will be quite more wore out, maybe am older now. How are others figuring it out?

Last year 8-14 hour seeding days, plus 6 days fertilizing, harrowing, spraying and pre seed cultivating.

Actual seeding time? 8 to 10 days.

Reality? As a one man band, I spend more time moving, harrowing, burning,
picking stones, setting up, changing crops, stopping to load, etc., than I
do in the tractor seat! lol

I need at least 14 to 18 decent days. The 8 to 10 days of seeding is the
easy part. My oldest son is 8. Soon he will be out helping more and more.
        Those will be great days.

2 drills 8 to 14 hr 2 men. I spray and move stuff around plus pull out the two drills if have issues. Always have issues.
Normal year with no problems. 16 to 20 days.
Remember that's normal but what the hell is normal any more.
Basically when we get behind Main big drill I will start at 4:30 to 5:00 and second shift will be out and go till midnight.

Serious now, got some new equipment
bigger than last stuff I was using but by
the time I get completely comfortable and
work the bugs out of it, probably as long
as it did with the old stuff. I said this
isn't the year to be playing with
new/unfamiliar stuff with the late start
to seeding. Oh well, I bit it off, start
            chewing!!

Seeding window is so crucial this year. It's a
stressful time. Very stressful. More snow.
freezing rain. Ice. When you get hit with more
bad news every day, it frays the confidence and
the nerves. Call a friend who knows exactly
when you need their ear and is glad to hear from
              you. They value you.

.Creeks aren't running yet. Skunks are patrolling.
Magpies winging it. No bicycle tires pumped up
              yet. Pars

                parsley

The skunks, holy shit, I have never seen so many.

My son's been trapping them. And so much for the theory about them not being able to spray without their tails up. lol.
