Alone? Been there a few times its not fun. Hire a custom sprayer for less quality job. Rock picking neglected, ruts and washouts not cleaned up properly. Sure hope this new guy keeps on.

Live in the same yard i was born,cant even recall the
first day i was on a tractor,snapped the insiors of
piglets,pulled calves and rung chicken necks,just
always was,like most farmers,like my granddads
granddad.

Spred thin and doing a shitty job,you bet,but i do
enjoy raising my kids and spending time with my
wife.Maybe my boys wont run away from me when
they graduate.

Choices,time and energy are different for everyone.

Cotton, hang on to them like there is no
tomorrow. There is nothing like the love of your
son/sons. Mine are all professionals, but farming
still in their blood. There is not very many days
we do not talk, mostly about bobcats and trailers,
trucks and tractors, only now we have grandsons
too and the farm is OUR place. Soon to build
another hangar, another heated shop and pool
hall for the BOYS. Then we'll go there to talk
about tractors, .... And maybe girls, you think?
This is too much fun!

you must be organized and the crop goes in.

Takes me 5 days pre tillage and 5 days planting.
Usually the antiques run just barley long enough
to put the crop in. When the weed spraying starts
family goes to the lake. Negative reinforcement.

I'm not against it, just not doing it.

Usally averaged 500ac/ day, with 2-3 pilsner at the end and in bed by 11. But few pot holes or gettin stuck b/s. This year for sure the efficiency will be cut in half with out longer hours.
Wow did water show up in the last 24 hrs!!

We need about 20 days 16 hours a day. 1 40
foot drill about 8 different crops to seed about
3700 to 4000 acres. Clean out , changing over
and calibration takes time.
