This mornings weather from environment Canada has Rain (which would melt snow) and then snow and 0 for Tuesday. Hm this is not going to be good. But the Canola traders have dropped the price for last two days yet Soy is up. Yet Canola acres will be 2 mill less than last year, and west which needs to get seeding early for a decent canola crop is still not seeding. Add an inch of rain, and that sits you down for another week.
The boys at Moose Jaw should have the Ag ministers on speed dial by now with 130 an acre cash rents.
Should be an announcement within 10 days.
Lucky for us APAS is more interested in promoting FNAs fertilizer plant on the radio, instead of addressing the real issues of another equivalent of 2010.
Random thoughts.

Every one of you guys know before you start that mother nature holds the trump cards. All I hear is bitch, bitch, bitch. Everybody is a capitalist until things go bad. Then suddenly they are a socialist and want someone else to pay. "Where's my government payout?" This is farming. Shit happens. You will not have perfect conditions every year, manybe never.

grrr where in this thread has any one talked about the government giving us money. DAh yes its farming and yes mother nature throws every thing at us she can because we live in northern grain growing area of the world. Its one of the hardest places on earth to produce grain.
Its rather simple may 1st is here in two days with major rain and snow coming. Seeding will be delayed yet the markets think its all peachy and great.
Were all just tired of the BS that is going on!

I bitch because everyone in the city that has insurance for their house, if it burns down they get paid 100 percent of what its worth or more.
Meanwhile I pay premiums for at best 80 percent of a ten year average that includes those years that don't work out too well but still make it over the guarantee.
And maybe you miss all the headlines about groups getting grants to promote ag etc, from the government.
Agriculture is a primary industry that drives the provincial and federal economies.
Let it suffer and we will quickly become a third world economy.
The auto industry on a yearly basis is given more handouts than ag tenfold because it creates jobs. Ag is treated like shit.
Last time I looked the only time they can't be producing cars is during a power outage.
I understand mother nature holds the cards but I have witnessed more crap weather than I care to remember.
1 in 500 year rain event, 1 in 100 year frost event, now temp records dropping from 70 years back.
