    Snow

Anyone else get 6 inches of wet snow
overnight? We now have a snowfall warning
for the next two days. Up to 14 inches
expected, on top of this 6.

What a way to dash a mans spirits.

    Blech

fj, the forecast is ridiculous too. They have no clue. They say mixed
precip today, changing to snow overnight, then snow letting up tomorrow
night sometime. Talking about 20 cm, but it sure seems to me they are out
to lunch, we already got 15. I was halfway hopeful yesterday that we may
start in May. But now, I dunno. Can't push this snow, you get ruts, dig
the grass up. Yards are gunna be a wreck. Roads are gunna get rutted.
Half the original snow still needs to melt. Tree lines are still full.

A while back I made a post about how Reginas record snow is our normal,
and how when I was down there it didn't look too bad. Took some heat for
that! lol My wife's parents were up yesterday and were shocked. That is
before this snow and expected snow.

        WHY!WHY!WHY!WHY!

        Farming is cruel. lol!

Could be worse Freewheat....you could be trying
to calve out cows in this crap weather. The
forecast here looks better so hopefully we'll only
end up with a 10 percent death loss.

Worst thing is snow means low temps. What a
            spring. Sorry Freewheat!

Got some sheep. But they are not due till late May. Thankfully. Yeah,
calving would suck. But staring another too wet to seed year in the
face after 4 of the previous 6 too wet, is financially painful. More
than a 10% loss by a long shot, with the utmost respect.

What a bunch of wimps...temperature is not bad and its supposed to be warmer Thursday, Friday, Saturday...this white-out is a blessing in disguise...moisture is good on the Prairies.

Pretty soon leaves already yet...I love this country...sure beats other areas of the world.

NOT in our part of the prairies/ sticks...rain/snow takes grain makes farming a pain.

Wil, it is one degree outside today. The high for tomorrow is -3. Then
plus 2. thursday 9. As a guy who probably farms in the desert somewhere,
of course you would welcome any precip you can get. You dry area guys can
not fathom what hell it is when it is too wet. It is not like it is just a
bit of moisture. When you dry out for 5 in 7 years, and you have some
concern, I will not call you a wimp. I will have compassion.

This will help to thin out the wanabee big operators. We expect to be going by the 20th of May.
