Anyone seed some winter wheat? How did it overwinter?

We are wondering if winter wheat would spread out the spring work load. Is it working for anyone out there in av?

Seeded 160 acres last fall and very little
germinated but it is all coming this
      spring. Time will tell.

Excellent germ and emergence last fall August
        24. Drove past last night, the snow has melted
away from the hilltops and they look dead. Lower
areas are green. I think it's too early to say good
or bad. Some AVer advice was not to look at it
        until finished planting spring crops.

Ours looks very good, only got 700ac in though. As soon as it gets firm enough we will be top dressing.
Um.. do not wait until you are finished planting to top dress - yeaild will be determined by then IMO

Farmgal yes, it does spread the workload. A
person has at least 60 days to get the drill set
            for winter wheat planting.
Now, in the spring those.acres are.already
            planted.
it also.fits on land too wet to plant in early
spring. Chemfallow until.August and plant to
            winter wheat.
