    Seeding progress 2013!

What seeding progress, drill finally after last weeks snow storm is able to move to the yard for repairs. Drill two was Saturday. Snow drifts in back roads but dropping. Water running all over the place and ground soft soft. Sunk the quad yesterday.
Seeding is 0 progress for our area. To the west of us and south of the valley probably by Friday. Were thinking next week at the earliest.
How's the battle going with the rest out their.

In the south east its drying quicker that I thought it would, still a few snow banks around some fields. By Thursday or Friday we are hoping to go on some.

Its almost like were in two separate countries. Hasn't really rained or snowed in months, wind is blasting here again this morning. Wind warning in effect. Wheat is done. Corn needs a couple more days. Canola, a couple more days. One bunch of cows out today, the rest out Monday. Sold the last of the feeders last week. Waiting for summer. Hope everyone gets going in earnest.

dumb question dont you guys have to wait
for weeds to spray off before seeding?

snow water rtc rtc but still gonna sow in
7 days so no weeds germinate or you get
                  them later

                  sorry for my ignorance

mallee, I think this year because of the lateness, guys are gonna roll when the land is fit. If nothing growing with the drill goes in, we'll deal with it "in crop".

or spray it before the crop emerges. The hard frost we have had has limited the weeds thus far. I expect with the 25C weather this week we are going to see lots of weeks in a week. Heck we haven't been able to put water in the sprayer yet cause we would have to then keep it in the heated shop.

Yup, if nothing is growing, seed and spray before emergence, or deal with it in
                        crop.

I know I never have, and never will wait for weed growth, or a specific soil
temperature. You seed when you can. The window is so tiny, no other luxury is
                        afforded.

When the water is gone, and the soil is no longer mud; that is when we roll.

Thought we would be the 20th but things
have jumped so we will be going next
monday. Weeds are just starting now. Still
a bit of snow around but 26 with a wind
will fix that tonight. If we do not get a
May long weekend rain even we should get
the crop seeded in good time.

Started Friday. Still some snow banks to seed
around and working from drier land to wetter stuff
as I go. 1800 in thus far it is perfect seeding
conditions but the SW will need water in June or
will be a bust as moisture is not deep. 16-24" on
                            average

Some seeding started around hills at Jackfish Lake. Water still runnin in main water runs. Some of our land still filling up, but stand alone potholes drying up fast. Backroads still plugged with big snow banks. Hopefully within 5 days for us.
