    No Anhydrous.

Finally get rolling yesterday. Got filled once, 4 hours after I asked for
nh3 to arrive. Seeded till nine when I was empty. Still have not been
    filled.

What a fricking joke. Anyone else having nh3 issues?

I mean, is this for real, or is it just my supplier?

Worst is I watched my neighbor yesterday continue seeding for a half hour
after the truck arrived. Go to the truck when it gets there already, let
some of us who aren't to good to stop seeding to get filled, have a
    chance...

Can finally seed, yet can't. FED UP!!!

From Manning north there was no NH3 to be had.
Rural companies don't have much storage
capacity and not near enough highway trucks
hauling it. This is because 1) can't find qualified
drivers 2)drivers can't drive too long due to
increased hours of service auditing by gov. 3)
certified bottle trailers are not near as common as
bulkers. 4) the may long weekend....here the
mennonites wouldnt work Sunday Monday or
Tuesday. I got a call from my neighbour that
Pioneer would hire their truck directly from them
because their main people shut down. So I hauled
Fert for 3 days made 1500$ no DOT's workin
...equals no log book and no overweight
      problems.

More guys all the time dropping NH3 to run dry
      because Nh3 is hugely unreliable.

Sure am considering going dry, but then I need some bins, big cart etc. Working
alone, nh3 is great when it is normal. They think I will get a tank by noon,
but with canola at 120 lbs, that does not get me far at all. A tank a day? Oy.
A month to seed I guess.

Off to do a 5 acre piece with fumes...

Switch to Urea as soon as you can. With a short seeding window most years, sitting and waiting on NH3 to be delivered is ridiculous imo. Dry fertilizer bins can be very useful at harvest time. Granted you do handle more product with Urea but the lost time waiting on delivery of ammonia can never be recovered.

upgraded to a 3000 gallon tank slid the tanks back and put 30.5 tires on the back this year put a Maxquip pump on and love that part of it, can actually be going and stop and immediately jump out of tractor and get under drill and almost no anhydrous smell, ammazing, and can plant in the light rain or fog, could not do that before.. Love it love it cause doing maintenance is so much better. and so far no problems actually giving me more flexability with the 125 acre between fills and keeping good contact with the supplier if ever my fill times change and sometimes fill early or not to full so to help them out just think have to help each other out , actually got the wheat done yesterday and today spent all day planting wet spots and now spending time switching over to peas so no n delivery for me needed. Maybe that come at just the right time for them. I sure hope I have no delivery issues for the canola tomorrow up until the rain on Sunday. That will suck. The last few years have sucked for delivery wish it could be better. this is the time it usually happens when half done. If FNA fert plant ever gets going then we can have our own big tank and deliver ourselves like the aussie guy says. Another thought is have own truck in field to take the anhydrous so to give supplier more flexibility could have a days supply by morning. Well anyways something has to be done. Well that is why I work till 1;30 in the morning and get out of bed at 5;30 can sleep when no delivery sucks.

Hopefully stopping and hurrying to get under the drill and not smelling it is cause I sniffed too much of it in the past

Ammonia delivery will always be a problem in a compressed season. Its a combination of trucking capacity and standpipes to load the trucks at. Both are a finite quantity and they are geared for a 5-6 week season, not a prayer its going to work on a 3 week season.

On-farm storage probably isn't practical and your ability to fill farm storage would depend on interpretation of the industry code of practice for NH3. As someone has already suggested stay in close communication with your supplier and buy the biggest nurse tank(s) you can afford. There's some good reasons to use ammonia at seeding but not being able to store it puts you entirely at the mercy of the delivery chain.

Why couldn't we have onfarm storage, the shit should be on sale in the off season.

No shortage of NH3, but dry is a problem. We finished today with beans only P.
