Voting 101

What the heck is the Premier doing, typically party policy is formed at convention by delegates who debate policy and party direction. Is this a reckless move or a new style of direct democracy director the Premier himself where party members can vote on direction of policy. If so, lets start a list:

Ok so I am the only one charged about this, , a complicated topic, negatively charged by the current events, looking for results and direction from a populist vote?

Who the hell has time to go to a convention. Send a ballot out to me and Ill put my x on it and send it back. Not 400 people who attend conventions!

will this mean the end of their convention and policy? not likely, but on the other side it always pleases me when asked what should we do, instead of being told this is what we are going to do.

There is a reason for conventions to debate important issues while I agree who has time, I also never attend conventions, but I do know some of the delegates who go and for the most part they are involved and engaged individuals who essentially are the body of the party, they freely give their time to the debate, and this process is one which should be respected. While the idea of referendum, is well employed by Switzerland where all citizens are allowed to weigh in by ballots on specific issues, this is an example of a process which has served to engage citizens at another level. And so, as a whole, really not a bad idea. However to start with the Senate question while at its negative peak, a very complex topic with future implications on the governance of our nation, could be reduced to a reactionary agenda.

The Senate is not a black and white issue to be reduced to a yes or a no on a ballot.

And so I merely note if we are moving to a populist driven process, assisting the Premier in policy direction, then
lets add to this list and get on with the changes the majority endorse.
