To get you excited, canola oil is a
premium priced commodity based on the
value it provides consumers in a
commodity world satisfying the needs of
the other 96 percent of consumers and
likely a good portion of the 4 percent
    organic market.

You certainly know how to excite a girl,
      charliep....

I'll let you chart the growing demand for cocoanut
oil. And almond oil. And olive oil. Okay? But I'll
predict that the 4% are the ones driving those
markets, based on the fact they can afford it, and
they have researched their reasons for buying
alternate oils, and also because I have personally
found the 4% say they avoid canola oil based on
safety reasons. Im only the messenger here, so I
can only state what I hear. #noshootingplease

You are the messenger. I am only
concerned you communicate facts and not
        bias based on business interests.
Actually your market is a lot bigger
than us fat old rich baby boomers. The
growing market is 20 year older and 30
year older with young families. It is
also new Canadians. So the issue is not
about organics. It is about what you
        communicate and how.

          The extremely uninformed 4%.

Its not what you hear, its what you want
to make up. Like your rat study. Pig
          study. Disgruntled professors blurting
          out nonsense.

Keep it up, your industry relies on it.

Potatoes contain toxic compounds known as glycoalkaloids, of which
the most prevalent are solanine and chaconine. The toxin affects the
nervous system, causing headaches, diarrhea and intense digestive
disturbances, cramps, weakness and confusion, and in severe cases
            coma and death.

Would potatoes be approved today as a novel food brought before
Health Canada and CFIA? Definitely not.

The bulk of my customers were young families
and university students, charliep. Educated. Well
paid. Well travelled. Not Marxist window-
              smashing car-burning G20-terrorist types, either.
I thought it would be retired couples. I was
              wrong.

I've had many intresting discussions about risk.
One of the things I have found is that young
couples today, are very concerned about the food
their children eat. And not just Canadians. They
hunted for healthy snacks and healthy recipes
and safe food. Both parents are dedicated to
child rearing and sharing duties. And cooking.
Men were very interested in food safety as well
as women. Dessication is a definite worry.
Modified foods is a worry. Additives. Ingredients.
Mad cow. Stacking is a worry. Origin Etc. I've
heard it all. You from written reports and I from
real people. Supply was never ever an issue; in
              fact, obesity was an issue.

I agree with them that food safety is an issue in
today's world. Trust is an issue in today's world.

And motive is always at issue during any
              transaction. Pars

                Rotenone-pyrethrin or Spinosad disrupt
the nervous system and are effective
                agents to control insects. Very
effective for killing entire colonies of
                ants. Control of fire blight.

But oh, its approved for organic farming
and is sprayed at 5 to 10 times the dose
of 'synthetic' pesticides sprayed on for
                example, lettuce. USDA study showed
there is 10 times the residue of toxin
                on 'organic' lettuce over conventional
                synthetically sprayed lettuce.

All about the marketing and fooling the
consumer. Apparently only 4% are naive
enough, and easily parted from their
                cash, to be fooled.

Organic Pesticides is not an oxymoron
                after all.

Isn't BT used on organics, but the same gene in corn, cotton, etc is bad?

                    Bacillus thuringiensis certainly is and
has been used for over 50 years. How it
                    works? No one really knows.

But effective marketing and slight of
hand make putting bt in the corn rather
than spraying the crap out of it with a
soluble form a very dangerous thing.

Why don't you stand up for yourself and use all of these facts of yours to market your own crops wd?

Why is it that in your mind, all those who offer a choice to consumers are greedy story tellers? Tell your story wd. Get out there and advertise your facts. Get oneoff on the bandwagon with you and hit the road. Attack us bastij marketers where we stand,--- in front of consumers that you say we are deceiving.

Lots of opportunity outside of the agriville forum where I don't think you are making much headway with any newcomers. Those who are already caught in the chem vortex will only change when they retire, and you will have to work like hell to keep convincing your children as the world wakes up to the lie that got you where you are today.
