    Centurion Rate

I do not understand why centurion with Libery is
all over the place when tank mixing with Liberty.
Some are going 120 acres, some 100 some 80
some 60, and Saskfarmer said he was going full
rate. I usually go 80-100 depending on how it
works out with the acres to be sprayed. What are
most putting on for water? This is to big a
spread, for everyone to be happy with the job it
    is doing.

Agchat/or anyone, there's a "coffee shop" rumor, not to spray Liberty after sunset as you won't get a kill on weeds, any truth to that?

I was always told the heat of the day is best.
Sometimes the window does not always allow
that. I will start spraying Liberty today, would
like to wait till almost weekend, but do not like
sounds of weather. Each to there own, but I feel
spraying early is better than spraying late.

Depends on weed staging for us, if grasses are large we use 40ac/jug assure or centurian and we only go one app on liberty so we go heavy rate 1.62l/ac. You could maybe go 60ac rate if grasses were really small and you had a good preseed burnoff.

We spray 10 gallons and so 160 acres to a tank
so I put 3 jugs in or 53 acres per jug. Easier the.
Doing partial jugs and give a bit of insurance if the
liberty doesn't work as well or get a thunderstorm
          a bit too early

              Liberty is a contact dessicant.

Centurion is a wild oat group 1.

It boggles my mind why anyone would use less than full rate... wild oats hit with only liberty will grow back if tehre's any rain on it within 14 days.

Just get Arrow from Mana. $3/ac for full rate, and be done with it.

All you do with using half and quarter rates is breed more resistance into the wild oats gene pool.

Liberty at 1.35L/acre and 80 acres to the case of centurian at 5 gallons/acre and 5 days later everything is roasted.
Dont have heavy wild oat pressure but even the crested wheat and broam grass is nuked along the roadside. Have used this recipe for a number of years and has worked well 99% of the time.

Have done the 120 acre/case rate as well with good results on the wild oats but japanese broam needs a little poop up.

Actually Klause, either a weed is
resistant or not and lower rates don't do
                    that.

You can only delay the inevitable
                    resistance.

WD, the Academics say cut rate does not bring on resistance. I say BS.

Wheat is resistant to everest at 80 ac a jug but i bet it isn't at 10 ac a jug lol

But there is also synergy among herbicides. IE. mixing can make
wierd things happen, like heat up what either mixed chemical would
do on its own at twice the rate. I mean, you can add a bit of mcpa
to refine or whatever, and get weeds neither of them will get
                          alone.

Same for clethodim and liberty. There are reasons there are
labelled rates, and I would ere on the side of caution. Some mixes
                          really heat eachother up...

High, off label rates can be a disaster.

Personally, I have had good success with either the 1.6 loiberty
rate, or the normal rate with the LABELLED rate of clethodim.
Again, Wild oats are fast becoming a distant memory with several
years of diligence and zero tilling, so there is less need.

                          Barley is another story though.

                          Watch the synergy, boys.

freewheat, in barley use Broadband MCPA.

It will clean everything out of it, including resistance wild oats, etc.

It's fairly simple... you keep hitting things with an antigen that's too weak to kill it, but strong enough to injure, the thing will form antibodies to it. How do you think we got group 1 resistant wild oats... There were studies ( I will have to find them), where they've linked low rates of herb. to increased resistance.

FWIW, 60ac/case is a labeled rate of Centurion... so I'd stick with that if you want to stretch it.

Centurion is a poor choice to mix with liberty.
Bauer and the crop retailers both know it, who can
you trust these days. Yes it works but ....

Who today would spray regal one in the heat of
the day bright and sunny? It breaks down in or
with uv rays. So does centurion!

A better choice is assure, it gets foxtail barley and
the same weeds as centurion, but you can spray
in the heat of day when liberty works best.
Assure is from the "dim" family of chemicals and
centurion is from the " fop" group of chemicals.
