Rural Cleanup Fund for Alberta Flooding.

Charliep, can we set up a fund for cash for
cleanup for Alberta rural folks and will you gather
up the money? They may have to rent
equipment, or purchase pumps etc. Cities usually
get helped first. Timeliness prevents mould. If
we can send you the money , will you post the
address we sent it to? I'm good for $100.00

PDAP will cover costs of clean up and
    restoration. In Saskatchewan in 2011,
municipalities and urban councils designated and
    people are compensated.

Parsley, there aren't many farms in the flood zone.
The few you see are well above the Highwood and
the Sheep Rivers. It's mostly ranching country and
their farmsteads are situated high and dry. The
ones suffering are acreage owners who bought nice
little properties right along the rivers and those
living in High River, Okotoks, Black Diamond and
Turner Valley. In fact the entire Town of High River
has been ordered evacuated. As for donating funds
      - Albertans are well covered by the Province. All
that is needed is for the bureaucrats in Edmonton to
get off their asses and get it done in a timely
fashion, unlike 2010 when much of the Dunmore
      area got drowned.

There is serious serious damage in AB. Some
Roads and bridges are kaput. Emergency
evacuation. Most of the AB assistance will be
        used for large projects.

Some farm families will be underinsured.
        Pumps are so vital. Pars.

I will be following and let everyone know if there are things that can be done. The system is busy ensuring peoples safety as first priority and secondly, minimizing damage to the best of their ability. Other issues and needs will come forward when more is known.

My Dad lived along the Elbow River close to the Stampede grounds in 2005 and was moved/had his apartment building impacted. He lives in Bridgeland now (north of downtown/the zoo and where the General Hospital was) in Calgary and was evacuated last night. I suspect the apartment is high enough but who knows in the current environment. It is truly a strange world.

Glad he is safe and sound charliep. The farmland
on the outskirts of High River is water. .
