I suspect the RCMP will have to apologize and
will likely be sued by many people due to this
illegal break and entry without warrants.
Whoever gave the order should be arrested as
    well.
How can looters easily see guns inside a house
    when it is locked up?
They claim to have hundreds of guns
repossessed so this is more than randomly
    stumbling across them.
Wouldn't it have been easier to simply put trigger
locks on all the guns if that was in fact the issue?
If they forced their way into homes and left them
unlocked they have now made the houses easier
targets for looters. What about TV's, jewellery,
furniture etc now when the door has been kicked
    in?

The trust level of the RCMP has definitely
dropped to a very low level.

One more question I'd be raising is did the RCMP
actually destroy the registry for long guns like they
were supposed to? I'd be very suspicious about
how random the houses were that they picked to
      do B&E's on.

For shits and gigles replace "firearms"
with "gold" and see how well this story
sits. That's a little more contemporary
        with world events right now.

Unnecessary search and seizure, maybe not illegal if
ordered, but obviously abuse of power. This country
moves closer to a police state and the loss of
          individual rights every day.
          I believe it Thomas Jefferson:
Those who would sacrifice rights for security deserve
neither, paraphrased, I'm not sure of the exact quote.

Every community is built that way, Rocky. We
just do it and shut up about it.

Whoever told the RCMP to carry out this mission
has to be publicly fired. If the RCMP undertook
break ad enter by themselves, Ottawa has to sit
down and have a short talk with the head of the
RCMP, and ask for his resignation. Pars. U

Government is actually not to interfere
              with the RCMP.

                If they are that
valuable to you, why wouldn't you take them with
you - no law against that. Wrong. I never registered a gun, I can now own it, but if I am caught with a firearm in my possesion off my property it is a federal offence. As said harper did not go far enough.

I have a hunch if PMSH appoints a
commissioner, he can withdraw the appointment.
                  Same with his Cabinet

"PM announces the appointment of the next
                  Commissioner of the RCMP

                  16 November 2011
                  Ottawa, Ontario
Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced
the appointment of Robert W. Paulson as the
new Commissioner of the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police, effective November 21, 2011.
Mr. Paulson succeeds Commissioner William J.S.
Elliott, who has been appointed as Special
Representative of INTERPOL to the United
                  Nations.
Mr. Paulson has had a distinguished 25-year
career with the RCMP, joining in 1986 as a
Constable. He has held progressively senior
positions within the Force, most recently as
Deputy Commissioner, Federal Policing. Prior to
being appointed as Deputy Commissioner, Mr.
                  Paulson served as Assistant Commissioner,
Contract and Aboriginal Policing Services and
                  Assistant Commissioner, National Security
                  Criminal Investigations.

“Mr. Paulson was chosen following a rigorous
and open selection process. As a senior police
leader with broad experience across the RCMP’s
complex mandate, he brings with him a deep
understanding of the challenges facing the
Force,” said the Prime Minister. “Mr. Paulson will
provide the leadership necessary to strengthen
our national police force now and into the future.”

The Prime Minister took this opportunity to thank
Commissioner Elliott for his dedication and
significant contributions over many years of
service to the RCMP and the people of Canada.
The Prime Minister wished him the very best in
                  his future endeavours."

What's odd about this is, if i'm not reported missing and no one is looking for me, why would they then go and break into my home to look for me? What was the real mission besides an abuse of power?

When i was young and dumb i use to wonder how the
hitlers, stalins, maos and pol pots had enough critical
mass of support to allow them to do what they did.

Now i dont wonder at all.

                          Exactly, tippy.

I recall a swat team bursting into the Desrochers
home in Manitoba during the CWB border
crossing protests. They were ordered to come in
to squash protesting farmers, by some weasly
politician out on a power trip. I believe his name
was Ralph Goodale, Liberal manipulator of a
monopoly that wanted to keep farmers on their
knees. The swat team came in with black jackets
and hoods. You will recall the RCMP were
compliant, weren't they. And I'll bet a dollar to
donuts that the Alberta Justice Minister ordered
the RCMP to break into specified flood homes, if
the Wheat Board gov't institution has taught me
anything. And you can bet it's political, and
Redford is kept fully apprised of the raids she
ordered. When we learn who was targetted we'll
know why. Those are my beliefs. Hunches. Gut.
My personal conclusions. And of course I might
be proved wrong in a court of law.

Power-hungry politicians will stop at nothing to
encroach on anyone for there own ends, which is
why people need to nip the #RedfordGunRaids in
the bud. Your computers will be next. pars
