Grower99 - I would have to assume you have a
NDP membership if you are bragging up the
      $1billion/year taxpayer funded CBC?

Do you actually think the CBC is unbiased?

Sorry, definitely not a member but even if
I was so what has one's politics have to
do with the discussion? Every newspaper,tv
network...must be looked at through an
        objective lens.Does one's political
        support,colour of skin,religious
        convictions...have any bearing on whether
        one's views are credible?

grower, perhaps you would enlighten the rest of us by defining the term "objective" and how to tell if one is being "objective".

Grower 99, there are OMNI news channels on
Bell that I would never subscribe to, but am
forced to do so. Mandarin, Cantonese and
            Punjabi editions.

Yet, you deride SunNews, which I subscribe to,
and pay for. SunNews is not funded by tax
            dollars, either

Yet you choose to be critical of a private
            company doing business. Uh huh.

You most likely miss the CWB debiting farmers'
pooling accounts to pay for entertaining the CBC
at their Grey Cup bashes inside Main Street in
            Winnipeg., too.

            Sun? Click off, 99. Pars

Back in the ‘80s, I went to a rally that was trying to alert (lobby) the government to the plight of “drought stricken farmers” in our area. There were opposition MLAs as well as the governing Alberta Progressive Conservative MLAs there (who were a lot more conservative, and a lot less progressive back then). The CBC sent a television crew down to film the event, which was televised the next evening.

The way they covered it, I wouldn’t have recognised the event as being the same on I attended, except for the video clip of the one wingnut in the crowd who’d managed to get to the mic to deliver a mostly incoherent, but largely anti Progressive Conservative rant to the crowd and cameras. The CBC story that was contrived for the news report attributed the sentiment of the crowd, as being represented by this guy, and they totally fabricated a narrative under the guise of “news” to slam the government .

I learned right there how a story can be manufactured by a biased media. I have been highly skeptical of any “news report” since then, and especially if it is delivered by the CBC.

Thank you Horse for the insight into the flawed
thinking of the average socialist voter.
