Rained off and on today. Wet. VERY wet. Still spinning my way through swathing my canola. Should finish that tomorrow.

Nothing will happen for combining here until Monday IF it is nice and stops raining for more than a few hours at a time.

Hailed a bit north of us today. Was stopped fixing the swather and it was thundering and the wind came up suddenly and it POURED for 10 minutes.

        Crazy.

Saw the T-storms build to the east, hoping NO hard water! Oh ya it's frickin' WET like spring run off. Several days to get firm fields, soggy under swaths....hard to wait.

Sorry to hear about the tough slugging conditions Guys. Hope you get a break from the soggy conditions soon. I am hopeful you will get a stretch of good harvest weather yet but in the mean time quality of some crops will be taking it on the chin.

When you get out there work smart and safe, its not worth being maimed or dead. Take care.

We got going at about 2. Moisture at 10 on standing canola. Dropped a couple points throughout the afternoon.

When we turn bins after harvest it will be complete bins not just the tops.

Thanks lord for the small yielding crop so that I really don't have as much to worry about losing in the mud. What a glorious day.

                      started swathed canola, at 1.30
                      test 10.1 , was done by 8pm , 9.6 moisture.
got tough quick. on next field

why all the straight cut canola.
does it yield that much better?
did some years ago and it was a wreck .

been scared to try it again ever since.

Straight cut canola might have a hard time drying the ground under that canopy. It could be a problem that nobody thought of.
Riders if you change your political views and treated Tom a bit better maybe the lord word be better to you.

                          Breadwinner

I see a change in riders lately.

He has been thanking the Lord and ending with blessings etc.

It has to be getting better for him.

Shit, he will probably get a 400000 deduction for his farm soon as well.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Yesterday swathed canola was over 14 and standing wheat was well over 20
Nobody movin yet - later today the guys with driers most likely will be going.

I usually swath my canola, but the first three fields swathed blew around in the wind because the stubble was too short to hold it.

So I got the plane in and desiccated the rest. Nice to cut but a little nerve wracking.

I went from no straight cut canola to 2200 acres. A pretty big experiment.
