Devine thought ending the crow Would benefit the province.
It ended up Deregulating the railroads so tracks were torn up and elevators Gone.
Highways were pounded to pulp and we Were bankrupt After his reign.
We have more roads than anywhere in Canada ,an almost bankrupt province could not begin to fix .

Tom, I disagree with every point you make!. The federal payroll actually increased under Harper. From 2005-2012 it went up by 14% with the addition of 34,000 more fed employees. Not what I voted for.
Yes he has cut 26,000 employees in the last 3 years but outsourcing and contract work hired by Ottawa has now gone up by 27.8% more than the savings of his cuts! Not what I voted for.
And the number of top level civil servants employed by the cabinet increased by 21% since Harper took office and his very own PMO office employs 38% more people today than Martin had. Not what I voted for.
And today we have 15% more communications staff - 4000 spin doctors employed by the Cons. Not what I voted for.
Harper put in 59 Senators after promising not to appoint unelected senators. Definitely not what I voted for!
The TPP will put more smiles on Chinese faces than all the solar and wind in Canada ever will.
No, I am not short sighted, I am open minded and will judge everyone on their actions. I will not be scared of fearmongering and BS talk like the NDP will double workers an costs as you claim without any proof.

Tom, for all your claims of Harper's great economic leadership, I challenge you to read this blog by two real economists and then tell me what a great economic job Harper has done:

And they will be bankrupt if they try to fix them.

They are doing a poor job of replacing highways. They all have to built for primary weights now that rails are gone.

And highway 42 is being pushed into 2017 for completion while highway 19 gets pummeled into oblivion again.

With all their cuts, they might just cut themselves out of a job. They decimated or off loaded almost all agriculture programs and replaced nothing. My feeling is that they taught us again. it's time for a new right wing party.

            Walk

Increased deficit by 160 billion in six years

Only PM while at the controls with two recessions

Spent 750 million on ads, most of it on Economic Action Plan, what's to show for them, when unemployment is at 6.8% while for young people over 13%

Cut funding to Veterans and closed 13 Veteran Affairs offices, while over a billion dollars budgeted for Veterans went unspent

I personally do not call these little mistakes made by Harper!!!

Walk I'm sure you have to admit Harper has made huge mistakes, and how can he not be held responsible for them???

              DML,

In 2011 When the Federal Conservative Majority took over 570,000 workers. March 31 14 510,000.

You are wrong about contracted workers. Federal pensions and benefits are not paid on contract work... and Sick days unused being paid out; are being changed [in the 2015 budget] to stop that drain. Simple management to reduce cost. The treasury Dept is not doing these changes to increase cost... you must admit!

Tom Harper has been PM since 2006. You cannot simply drop years to make his record better. Under his watch, the civil service numbers increased from 2006-2012!

You second point is valid if and only if the total cost of doing the same job is less than having the civil servants do it. But then why has the cost of contract work and outsourcing increased by 27.8% under Harper from just over 7 billion to more than 10 billion? The only two reasons is the outsourcing is more expensive or there is more government, neither which I voted for.

BTW, did you downsize your combine because smaller combines are more fuel efficient? But now you have to hire a customer operator because you do not have the capacity? That is equivalent to you saying Harper is doing a good job because by cutting workers he no longer has to pay the sick time or pensions

I can't wait for the NDP/Liberal coalition!!!! I can drop my kids at the $15 a day daycare and we can go eat brownies and smoke pot all day everyday. While the top wage earners pay for everything...HAHAHAHAHA..
That sounds like a Evil plot from a budget movie. I can see this country going downhill real fast.

Forage you point to youth unemployment as being to high at over 13%. I would agree, when you look at youth unemployment by province Ontario is the highest after the Atlantic provinces. If your belief in bigger government and higher taxes creates jobs Ontario would have the lowest youth unemployment. Higher taxes only stifle creativity. Government bureaucracies are insulated from market forces and are too slow to react.

If smaller combines are more fuel efficient (which they are) we choose the lower hppower units that save both fuel and put more grain in the hopper.

PM Harper is not perfect. Under the Majority they have genuinely tried to put this gov 'combine' under better management... with less money used [like fuel] and more constructive outcomes for Canadians [more grain in the hopper]

Folks are sadly mistaken to put their trust in NDP policy to create a more efficient prosperous country...
Proof over and over from past experience is that; the opposite (less output and prosperity) is proven from gov management of real assets... who ever owns those assets. Look at CN. From losses of Billions... to profits of billions under private management.
