Cut off the millions of welfare to the oil industry.
Cut mp and senate pensions. Get rid of half the mps they vote what the leaders say anyway so just give the leader that percentage of total vote to use as the number of mps the party elected. I can go cut ribbons between harvest and seeding for a fraction.

Make it illegal for a political governing party to promote itself using our money during its term

We could save a lot if Nigel would pay the salaries of all the other crooked senators and mps.

Keep CBC radio and increase it’s budget…it is one of the few organizations that digs deep and gives both sides of the argument…(And FreeWheat, you can’t reply, because you have said you don’t listen to it…;-)
Keep supply management, but fix it…bring other farm industries to its level, not bring them down to ours. The US spends way more than we do in their “open” market, supporting ag.
Review pensions of all politicians….and their tax free income. They should receive something, but the entitlement has gone too far..
Return to borrowing money from the Bank Of Canada, as they did before 1974, interest free for infrastructure projects. (This is the COMRE court battle of late..)
      “The largest single federal spending item was interest payments on Canada's public debt (that is, money borrowed by the central government over the years, which has not yet been repaid to the lenders). These payments-to institutions and people who hold federal bonds, treasury bills and other forms of the debt-cost $33.8 billion. That's just over 15 cents of every tax dollar.” Pasted from;
      http://www.fin.gc.ca/taxdollar06/text/html/taxdollar06_-eng.asp
So, this is where 15%m of your tax dollars are going….
Here is a breakdown of the largest holders of Canadian debt:

Life insurance companies and pension funds - 24%
Mutual funds, investment dealers, etc - 22%
      Non-residents - 14%
      Chartered banks and "near-banks" - 12%

And read “The Crash of 2016 by Thom Hartman”….would like other’s views on this book. Deals with how Corps and “Economic Loyalists” have pushed the tax burden from them to middle class…..basically since Regonomics.

Cut income tax completely and go to pure consumption tax, screw this wedge issue of the 1%. Tax the ****ing immigrants and welfare cases and the working man the same. Saving shouldnt be taxed with negative interest rates after income tax. Buy a 120" plasma get taxed but cash in the bank and saving so the kids dont have to house and change your shitty diaper shouldnt be penalized. I dont even have a problem with taxing farm machinery when purchased, just not as an asset.

F35's an over complicated tird of a plane. A F-16 built in the 70's has better performance.

Come on, your not the least concerned about consumers paying more for dairy!!! Just who are you trying to fool here on Agriville!!!! Reread your above post, your against any government help on just about any thing. So why would this bother you?? Your on a farm you can raise all you need on your own.

Freewheat, you just can't stand other farmers being prosperous, it's a pattern in your posts.

Wakopa: Do you feel that the public purse should continue to pay 2/3 of crop insurance?

freewheat: What about all sports funding (fed share of facilities, athlete development for national and international competition, transportation assistance to international events, even the tax credit for youth sports that Harper introduced) If you want all arts funding cut do you also agree with cutting all sports funding?

And what about culture and heritage funding. Again, similar to arts funding. Do you support funding culture, heritage, museum etc? If not, who should fund this?

A number of posters seem to feel we should completely cut all Native support. The entire budget of the department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in 2014 was just over 8 billion. I am wondering what you think the additional costs would be to other social programs and to the justice system if tomorrow we defunded the entire department. Would the costs to other departments exceed the savings?

Dml apparently my post left the wrong impression. The point I was trying to make was the present political climate in Canada is very anti business anti innovation. We need leaders cheerleading business expansion and creativity not taxing and regulating it to death.

As for cuts, the first thing that comes to mind is all the money wasted by government on advertising promoting itself. Pensions are now and will become a big issue and cost, this will require careful management.

I would suggest we cut the fuel tax break on farm fuel as it just encourages over consumption and waste. If you are going to leave your diesel truck running at the rink for a 3 hour hockey game, other tax payers shouldn't give you a tax break.

Crop insurance premiums should be fully paid by farmers instead of the 50/50 split. If your not wise enough to know when a bad year is coming you shouldn't be farming.

I would also privatize the road system and go to user pay as governments overspend on roads. Drivers should pay the actual cost based on the number of km they drive each year.

The healthcare system and education system should also be privatized.

Why should I susbsidize my neighbor's kids education since I don't have any kids.

And why should hockey players get free health care when they put themselves at risk.

If you smoke, drink and are overweight pay your own health care bills. Why should I subsidize your bad habits.

Get off the dairy thing foragefarmer. Very hard sell.
Milk production would industrialize overnight. 1/3 the cost to consumer. Did we create a vibrant industry or a few paper millionaires? Either way consumers pay.

Some comments are so extreme mps won't listen to it.

It would be political suicide to implement that many cuts.

Not sure of the cbc issue. If I don't like what I am listening to I change channels. Pretty simple.

I get ****ing sick of xm as well. Pay for stations I never tune into.

Give me choice of 5 channels for a reasonable cost. And quit talking on it. Now xm has radio people. Cancelled it.
