The diversity of conditions in Western Canada seems to cover everything from one extreme to the other.
I may not be in the "garden spot" of the Prairies but learned to deal with the variability. Over my lifetime I would say we tend drier than wetter. Even in the "wet cycle" we never had it near as bad as the fellows not too far east of here.
Freewheat, maybe take a page from Grassfarmer's book. I think he's onto something. Cattle producers are getting scarce, they do things different than our forefathers and the prices are very good. Can always go back to crop production. Mow around the bluffs to keep them the original size in case you want to grain fsrm it again.
Hang in there. Hopefully there will be lots of nice harvest days in the next 6 weeks for you.
