Can not understand why prairie general farm organizations support the Canadian Federation of Agriculture in its defence of supply management.
Leadership of APAS, KAP and what was Wild Rose must know the importance of export markets for our grains, oilseeds and livestock.
Perhaps it is carryover from days when wheat board and pools were so influential in policy making.

Heard one leader say that when CFA takes a position, members are expected to support the parent organization.
Rather turned off by dairy farmers demonstration, seem more interested in discrediting government than looking for a way to move ahead with change to supply management to make it acceptable to our trading partners.

I agree with Tweety. Im not saying its right, but he has a very valid point.
Those farmers want their supply managed, and they are doing just fine, thank you very much. It has worked for decades. i would get pretty defensive if someone was going to trade away my living.

Of course the dairy industry works well, it receives billions of dollars worth of consumer subsidies every year, with the ability to increase the subsidy whenever they feel like it.
How about we leave those dollars in the hands of consumers to spend on other things, and also have the added bonus of avoiding having the rest of our exports being shut out of trade agreements like the TPP.
