      On this topic,
I need a new hazard flasher switch for my NH CR960. So go to the dealer. It's $300.....!!!
and oh btw, you will need the adaptor harness because the original is discontinued. (It's literally 12 wires 6 inches long with a connector on either end) get this....another $300, for a grand total over $600!!
CNH is on drugs, its not just over priced, it's insulting.

I told the local parts lady to Google it.

She did and it was $9.

Said if she got it off E-bay she would get fired.

        Jay-mo... GOOGLE THE PART NUMBER.

It is amazing that old discontinued parts are usually made in China at cheap prices. And they ship direct by mail for next to nothing.

The Feeder house chain on STS Deeres are 3 chain/rail till 2015.

2015 4 chain/rail ... have EXACTLY the same chains... but 4 rails. $2300 for 2015 feeder house chain. $2700 for older up to 2014... for 25 percent less chain. JD said it was impossible to upgrade. RIGHT. My mechanic smiled and we WILL upgrade later.

We will spend a little time and convert our machines to 4 rail chains this winter. Innards on feeder house floor need conversion... but front drum is fine. Back shaft the same... except 4 sprockets instead of 3.

We can take old 3 rail chains... and even change them up. Main slats are EXACTLY the same as well. And of course JD refuses to sell just the chain/rail by itself.

Don't you ever get tired of being treated like a fool?

I realize parts prices are set by the parent company but just think of all the dealer consolidation that has gone on in the last few years. In equipment sales, you can't even shop one dealer against another because they have consolidated into huge sales areas, then there is the selling into another dealer's "territory" rules... **** Off!!!

Being cynical is tiring and disheartening but for **** sakes give us something not to be cynical about.

I'm tired of being the "Host" to the "Parasite Party"!!! Maybe it's time for some of the other Industry players to become more efficient and trim some of the fat or dead weight in their operations and see if they can maintain the same level of service and productivity like we have to at times. You just can't keep ratcheting up prices with out any resistance.

Service calls, do I get paid from the minute I leave my farm till the time I get home when I go for repairs? AND get to charge milage? Who would pay for it?

They are just charging what you will pay.

If you were JD, CNH, wouldn't you do the same if you could?

How long before the wreakers can goto auctions and buy stuff just to strip the parrts off?

Judging by the fact that wreckers are selling equipment it's already happening.

Exactly Tom, Google the part number. Also look at Shoup.Com.

                        You need alittle time though.

Ya, we're all over the google angle. Even called this Italian c.o.b.o company. Seems like it is actually not made anymore.
I think we are stuck buying the new flasher module from CNH.
However, the $329 adaptor (a 12-pin deutsch connector with a few inches of wires and a much more obscure connector on the opposite side)we will make ourselves thanks to mouser.com for about $30.

14lb rad cap for my gleaner they wanted 128.00. Told them to stuff that. Bought two canvases to do my 30ft honeybee from my ago dealer. Off the roll canvas was under 1000.00. Didn't figure that was to bad.

For electronics components go to Digikey. They are one of the biggest wholesalers to industry. Buy at wholesale price shipping in 24 hours.

I quit buying electronics from dealers a long time ago.
