DML or who ever, did Canada have restrictions on dairy and egg EXPORTS before? Is that gone now if they did?

Great question wmoebis. Most farmers have no idea of what tariff and quotas are impacting our sales. You can find details of international tariff rates on this government of Canada website. If you go through by country you will see tariffs on agricultural exports from Canada are not huge.

It is simply awesome that the Harper Gov. Is so capable of dealing with minor little court cases that are no more substantive than a distraction, deal with Mid East crisis etc, and negotiate significant long lasting trade agreements.....all during an election campaign. That is multitasking that would spin the head of Trudeau and Mulcair and really exposes them as anti everything not to mention armatures.
A free enterprise friend of mine in Ottawa works in External Affairs in July was quite concerned that the Millenails would put the NDP in power and that they hate all the trade deals being negotiated and would stop all the good things that have been done and are being negotiated. He was laughing that his colleagues who usually support the NDP and Liberals were voting for Harper to keep the momentum going and save their careers and jobs.
I guess the TPP is a further sign of good things to come to the farm from the new 2015 Harper government.

I just like to give credit where it is due. The glass is half full in my world and despite all the problems we face in Ag, weather, rail, etc. There are people who are trying to make it better for us farmers. Complaining never solved any problems.

Ya, it's only to bad the Duffy trail stop at the being of September, your hero Harper would be dealing with a major trail not minor one.
As for the friend in Ottawa, your probably sitting in desk not that far from him!!!!

You popped your head up Crestliner, and the usual suspects will try to whack you one. The frothing at the mouth club simply can't believe that everyone doesn't hate everything they do.
Breath deeply and calm down forage. Increased trade is a good thing, especially when most of what we grow here in western Canada is exported.

No worries here, my crops have been traded all over the world, I'll handle it fine. I didn't need TPP to make it work.
Are you in Arizona, buying those cheap dairy products yet? A Snowbird such as yourself sure likes the social programs when they benefit you, don't cha!!!!

FarmRanger thanks for your support. I find it very entertaining that some here think I am a Harper hack/Troll from Ottawa....I visited there a couple times, but I really am a Sask farmer that still has oats and canola to harvest when the weather improves.
New to Agriville though, I really do appreciate the diversity of opinion and General information and are pleased with those that show respect to each other on line.
I am surprised at the foul language of some and I also know first hand that it is a hard habit to break when it's part of your regular vocabulary. But when I joined I thought we were to refrain from that. Just saying not judging. Each to their own.
