How is it stupid precription pain killers are highly addictive and kill more people than all illegal drugs and car accidents combined fact. If an ex alcoholic or ex smoker finds relief with an occasional toke of a natural herb they will be way better off. Unfortunately politicians are in the pharmaceutical industries pocket. Hell big pharma even writes the texbooks medschools pump. Follow the money.

Legalize it and tax. Lots of money to be made, and at the same time eliminate the dealers. Justin is right. Alcohol has destroyed far more lives.

Tell me why it's ok to smoke marijuana for medicinal purposes, but when an eight year old needs it for medical reason the Harper government says it's illegal for him to ingest it in a pill form.

So Harper figures it's better for an eight year old to start smoking.

I agree with you that is about as harmful as cigarettes or alcohol but do we really need another one of those. Maybe we do who am I to be the judge.
That crap about big pharma is a bunch of bull. Big pharma is trying to save lives and make people live longer. Its the doctors and patients that cause the problems with overprescribing pain killers. Its like anything people start to abuse whatever drug they are on if they become dependent on it.

It wouldn't have all the added risk charged to it if it was legal! What would be left for a dealer to make if it was sold in stores????

When was the last time someone bought pot from a drug dealer??? Seems every second neighbour is growing it so the drug dealers are allready out of the picture. Drug dealers are selling more potent crap that would kill most normal people. So the argument that it would put big drug dealers out of business is false.

The sad thing is that the stuff sold by gangs to kids can't be trusted and may have dangerous, addictive drugs mixed in. I've never tried any illegal drugs or marijuana but don't put marijuana in that category because I know many fine upstanding citizens that have been occasional puffers for years. I believe that it's use should be researched and either legalized or criminalized on the basis of fact.

Growing it and selling it to you makes your neighbor a dealer. I don't have any neighbors taking that type of chance, they have way to much to lose.
