Our flax swaths held on in the 70km/h winds but when the wind got up to 103 km/h the swaths blew and are gone except for a few piles in the field
          Close to 400 acres gone
We have about 100 acres we did not swath yet

            Sorry to hear that Jason.

In Swift Current, trees uprooted. Tin roofs peeling off. Coop had 3 older fertilizer bins that they had replaced fall over onto one of their flat deck trucks and into the local Ford dealership, getting the back end of a couple trucks. Trucks may be part of a "half-off" sale

The bins were anchored to big cement blocks, but had no skids. None of the new bins in their yard that had skids tipped.

Seen flax and canola disappear in 2012. Fricking hurricane here at the moment.

Scared to look. Flax is still standing, but maybe the roots are up in the air. LOL

What a nasty year for Flax.

Yielding 1/2 to 1/3 of Canola... won't dry down... bad to swath...

Hope you have crop ins. Jag! That was a really nasty storm! I see micro burst shelled out areas in some Canola swaths.. not enough area to get hail guys out...

                      Jag,

I have a 30' Shelborne Stripper header you might want to consider for picking up your blown flax. It is a Shelborne with JD feeder house new style hookup.

We picked up a big batch of flax windrows and chopped them with the combine last fall. Might help to feed the rolled up bunched flax windrows better into combine than a normal pickup header.
