We are truly blessed, certainly have more than we need.
More than anything, we are blessed with good family and friends, and are able to enjoy them in great country...and I think this country will be great no matter who leads it.
Has been a magnificent fall until today's winds took most of the color.

Thankful for those saskpower workers that got the power back on.

      Alot of late dinners today.

Big thumbs up for those that work in shitty conditions.

I quit complaining about those guys when considering the fact I lay down on outages.

      They earn their pay.

I try to practice Thanksgiving every day. First thing in the morning and last thing at night I think about things we are grateful for. Now I've started a gratitude journal and am finding that it's a powerful tool. It's a habit I wish I'd learned earlier.

After 10 years of spinal stenosis causing serious back and leg pain accompanied by increasing loss of feeling and mobility in my legs, I had surgery on April 2nd which completely reversed all the symptoms and nerve damage.

I am most grateful for so many things - highly skilled surgeons, terrific nurses, an excellent medical system and a family that helped me through the whole thing. They basically put my crop in this spring.

So fortunate to have my health restored and I am thankful to the medical people and to God who gives healing.

Wow Burnt, so good to hear. Were the symptoms gone right after surgery?

If one has good health of mind and body, the rest you will take care of, it's all less important to the quality of life. Be thankful, today and every day. Happy Thanksgiving, most should be able to take it easy, since it rained out harvest.

Yes, as soon as I woke up I knew things were different. First symptom most noticeably and immediately relieved was the feeling of extremely heavy feet and legs, like a bag of feed tied to each foot. I attributed it to getting old and tired. But when I woke up that feeling was gone. Now I'm just old...;-)

But the biggest thing was the numbness down each leg; I would literally not be able to stand unsupported at times in the final months before surgery. Plus hot, burning pain down each leg and in my backside. Walking more than a couple of hundred yards was a huge challenge.

When the surgeon saw the progression in the MRI's he said it should be done sooner rather than later, I said let's git'er dun! He bumped me almost to the top of his waiting list and wow what a difference it made. Immediate relief from every symptom that I had for all those years.

In 4 1/2 hrs, he removed a herniated disc, installed 2 spacer blocks (L4, L5), removed the back of 1 vertebrae that was thickened with arthritic deposit and realigned 2 vertebrae, then fused them with 2 rods held by 4 screws. All titanium parts so my net worth went up considerably...

It took a while to get my energy back post-op but lately I've been getting on and off of tractors like I did before all the trouble. It's just unbelievable how much difference it has made. Now I need to remember to act my age - don't want to undo it all...

So you can see why this Thanksgiving is perhaps the best in many years!

Plus we have our first grandchild to celebrate with us - wow, life is good!

                          Burnt

Great story, happy to hear a story such as yours.

You are 100% correct about our health system here in Canada. I witnessed this first hand when an immediate family member of mine was diagnosed with cancer. The service the doctors, nurses, and administration gave was beyond excellent.

We as Canadians really don't realize what we have, compared to the rest of the world!!!!!
