Don't agree very often with forage or ever until now. Braveheart pretty brutal bringing abortion into a discussion about a terrible farm accident. More then brutal, it's disgusting. Tom. You should know better

What a terrible thing. Thoughts and prayers to the families. Don't want to sound like lecturing but sometimes you don't get a second chance to be safe.

Be careful all farm families please !!!

        unbearable for the family's

just weeks ago explaining to my 11 yr. old grandson
about the last tragedy. the importance of staying out of grain. period. what can happen.
        now sadly again
the other one i pound in, is stay in the
combine truck what ever, unless it is on fire, otherwise you shut it off and sit .
        and wait for assistance
no walking around, no approaching other machines.

he did great , day lite , and only certain fields for now.

i ran them at 11-12 and we did way more dangerous things than i would ever allow now, like stick belt dressing on moving belts, shoveling in the top of old square bins, with auger running .
        just plain stupid

they all have to learn to see the danger themselves.
        that takes experience

i always think about the poor guy killed at his first day of work in saskatoon.
rolled over by a roll of steel.
i bet he was not a farm kid.

Vvalk, I didn't endorse Tom's comments re abortion. I do understand the point he was making though.

There's just too much back and forth on points that don't mean much.

Was with my daughter and one month old granddaughter on weekend.
I cannot believe the absolute innocence and helpless of these little ones.

Being involved in the Death of little helpless infants. Detestable objectionable murder.
Supreme Court justices of both the U.S. And Canada included.

              Moslem extremists are right.
              We are infidels.
Anyone who says nothing and does nothing to stop the slaughterhouses of innocent infants...
              Is guilty as well.

Tom, do us all a favor and go and spend some time with your daughter and granddaughter and take a break from the internet.

                    Another good comment:

We talked for an hour around the dinner table about this... cause we had little people out on the weekend as well. Manuals all now say no riders or children around the equipment being used. Anyone who over rides Equipment manual instructions by manufacturers... is Legally liable to be held responsible. OHS and WCB rules.

To the people posting how preventable this was, it is called an accident for a reason, it happened, hindsight is always 20/20, had you been there it would have happened just the same, no one made a mistake. Farms are dangerous places, I got kicked by a horse once, it could have killed me had it gotten me in the temple, but it got my elbow instead thankfully, but it was an accident, there was NO blame.

I was trail riding... horse spooked at ditch garbage..and drug me under belly for a quarter mile as boot went through stirrup when bucked off. Unconscious for 5 minutes.

Accidents happen. If someone had been hurt on the weekend on our farm... I would have been responsible because I said they could come for a ride on the combine.

There is no room for error... We are hypocrites... makes very sad.

This is the picture I wanted to post, the other one was for testing in the practice section, I obviously screwed something up. May they rest in peace and the family find some hope.
