Big deal. Look who endorses and advises the idiot. Omar Algabra. What about Kathlene Wynne? Why not look at the foreign affaris advisor to the millionaire by birth? His brother, Sasha the film maker. Now look at the films the idiots brother produced.

Those people make the Ford's look like saints. Yet the media says nothing.

At the risk of being assaulted with criticism I will say this.

I am personally not a big Ford fan but Rob Ford at onetime was admired for his ability to get things done, and straight shooting politics. Like so many people he made some wrong choices and addiction to elicit drugs really screwed him up. Tragically his whole ordeal unfolded in front of the Worlds eyes.

I can't help but recall Jim Flaherty's emotional plea to Rob to get help at the height of his addiction. He was clearly seeing a good friends life being destroyed and he truly cared for his well being.

I kind of admire Harper for having the balls to stand beside a long time friend and political ally, recognizing he is trying to get his life back on track.

All of these leaders and frankly all of us have baggage in the form of a friend of family, that don't always make you proud. I think Loyalty balanced with standing up for what you believe in despite the popularity of it all is admirable. Someday it might be one of us that needs the support. What would the world look like if we always turned our back on the ones we care about when the make a mistake. Especially mistakes that hurt themselves more than anyone else. This isn't murder or sexual abuse or Theft, this is being drawn in by addictions that are ruining millions of lives.

          Political suicide maybe.

I think Harper knows his days as PM are done.

It's pretty clear that the left elites have no time for people that have suffered addiction, yet they want to make it easier for our young people to get addicted.

Thank you PM Harper for your service, and if the Conservatives lose hopefully there will be a chance to renew the party and another strong candidate will step up to lead the party.

Think the polls are kind to Harper. His stops around the country is a joke.Jumps out of the plane in Regina and talks to a few hand pick conservatives.Trudeau comes to Regina and feels confident enough to take in Farmers Market downtown Regina.

CP: "Maybe he doesn't want to win"

Maybe you are saying this in jest, but I wondered this for the last couple of weeks but figured it was just too far out to even comment. I mean how could someone with Harper's personality and need to control even consider losing an election.

The only way this makes sense if Canada is in a lot worse economic state than Harper has been leading us to believe. If this is the case, the only way he can keep his legacy of being the economic savior is if he loses and the next governing party takes the fall for our current recession. Strategically, this may in fact be the only play to save the Conservative Party. In fact, it may even be a way for Harper to regain power in 5 years if the next government cannot clean up his mess from the last 11 years. And in his mind he may even see himself coming back from retirement in 5 years to save Canada again.

Everything he has done - a long election period, focus attack ads on Trudeau instead of Mulcair, drop all references to the Harper government, questionable candidates, even his association with people like the Fords are measures designed to turn off anyone who is not a die hard conservative.

Harper has lost this election, but everyday I am more convinced this may be what he wanted from day one.

No i agree with all that but it kind of doesn't make sense because he could have stepped down before.

If he had stepped down history might look at him as a quitter when times got tough. He could not handle a second recession so left. However, if the "stupid" voters throw him out how can he be faulted economically if he was not given a chance to save Canada again. It makes perfect sense in the mind of someone with a superiority complex.

                      Good point.

Having trouble finding even a single credible data point that our economy is going to be ok.
