Dad and I finished up a week ago. For starting on Aug 12, 7 rain delays took their toll. Neighbor should be done in a day or two. Last night on my way to Fort sask I seen 2 combines rolling out swaths north of hanna, a swathe going south of Killam, and 4 or so combines grunting west of Killam.

Still have almost all of my canola out. Made the mistake of trying to straight cut and now it won't dry down. Won't even quit flowering. Like freewheat, getting worried. Lots of swathed canola still out in the area too. Most other crops done.

My situation is due to five factors:
Hail hit a third of my land, delaying maturity badly. While others were able to go, I was waiting on green regrowth.
Seeding timing vs. the type of crop planted. I simply got unlucky with when I seeded what for whatever reason.
20% of my farm is faba beans. I am not worried about them, but they are still out there.
I have had the year of the breakdown/getting stuck. I have lost four excellent harvest days, due to stupid breakdowns. Many hours due to getting stuck. You can't use preventative maintenance to stop a bolt from breaking which in turn causes other failures!
And finally, it is cool and damp, which is pretty normal these days. We got four tenths on Tuesday. Before that, we had MANY rain outs.
I have got what I combined dry so far as well, but I have no air bins or a dryer. I honestly have not talked to a farmer around here who has done much dry, it simply took forever for the grain to dry naturally. If this areas farmers had no dryers, I would imagine the area complete would be 20% at best.
It ain't over, but the fat lady is cracking her knuckles. It would be pretty devastating to not get the rest of this crop...

Just wondering, how can you function with out aeration bins with the seasons you've had in the past and present? If it wasn't for aeration we would have never gotten our harvesting done some years. Hooking up propane heaters is must in a lot of years as well.

Forage: It has not been easy, but when I do get something tough, I have a good neighbor who does my drying. I took over/bought a farm which was very lacking in infrastructure, and it has been tough financially to do a lot of the things I really need to do.
Hope that helps explain my situation better. It is a need, Air and dryer is high on my list, but I am not too proud to say I have had a tough go of it...

Vvalk: I grow feed cereals, so quality is never an issue. We are not in a good grain quality zone, so I gave up on HRS wheat. The barley I did do on Monday looks like it would make malt, but I never swath, so it does not get soaked in the same way.
Faba beans look good, I may even try them today, they seem to dry out well after rain. A bit of black seeds in immature spots, but 90% look very nice, nicer than the seed I put in the ground...
And the canola is fine. Some of the nicest canola I have grown so far as the quality from what I have seen.
The money is still there, I just need it in bins!
Good news is they took tomorrows rain out and so that should get me going again.
