    Harvest...

Is there any crop out in your area? There are a handful of guys with some left here. Grind it out and fire up the dryer, I would consider myself lucky if I could get whats left out there off let alone close to dry.

But I do remember taking flax tough and having to dry it and others got a chance to harvest their's dry....the cost of impatience I guess. But I remember thinking I would rather be wrong having to dry it versus being wrong and not getting it. Hindsight....

Even the corn has been combined here. The big colony nearby had 770 acres of grain corn that yield 146 bus/acre dry and came off at 20% moisture.

Some of the stragglers here have a case of "wanna-be-BTO-itis". But for their sake I do hope they get it off!

In NE Sask I see mainly canary seed, oats and flax left......the odd low spot requires the ground freezing to harvest.

You are right it's better to dry this time of year.

Having crop out of the field in saleable condition is always a winner.
I have seen a field of wheat, flax, canola and barley in the last day or two.
          Very little left.

The big efficient farms around here start early harvest dessicated cereals tough/damp and dry it in August. Warmer weather less cost of natural gas, longer days. It definitely paid off (again) this year.

Lots of guys half done here also.

Someone may want to take down the 1990 canola seed sign on the standing canola field I saw the other day going to Saskatoon. It Looks like it froze green.

Lots of guys saying they are done some tough but have to take it at whatever it is. They have places that are booked for 1st part of Nov for the winter.

Dad and I finished up a week ago. For starting on Aug 12, 7 rain delays took their toll. Neighbor should be done in a day or two. Last night on my way to Fort sask I seen 2 combines rolling out swaths north of hanna, a swathe going south of Killam, and 4 or so combines grunting west of Killam.
