    Week 11 Railroad Performance

The Ag Transport Coalition Grain Week 11 railway performance measurement report is attached. The report covers 90% of grain movement originating in Western Canada.

Key figures from Grain Week 11:

CN and CP supplied 7,572 (83%) of the 9,138 hopper cars ordered for delivery in Grain Week 11 resulting in 1,566 hopper car orders remaining outstanding.
Timeliness of car supply: CN supplied 93% and CP 69% of the hopper cars that were ordered for Grain Week 11.
Non-bulk, USA/Mexico, Canadian domestic performance: CN supplied 97% and CP 31% of the hopper cars ordered for Grain Week 11.
Thunder Bay performance: CN supplied 92% and CP 69% of the hopper cars ordered for Grain Week 11.
506 (7%) of the cars ordered for Grain Week 11 were supplied early (the prior week).

CP seems to be behind in car supply.
Wonder if new government will have courage to "force" action by CP as many on this forum advocate?
Think it more likely to wait for CTA review.

Winter must have started a couple months ago for cp. good thing there wasn't a bumper crop.

Harder to be critical of CP management when share value was rising relative to CN.
In recent months, CN has been gaining.
With downturn in coal, oil and potash, CP should be in a better position to handle grain.
If next week report does not show improvement for CP, time for concern.
Would play into hands of those who have been suggesting billions of dollars of farmer losses coming from poor rail performance.
