Reread your post Farming101 and you did indicate year in year out; so perhaps my experience is not necessarily the norm with grain co's being well covered. I have never really looked further that 200 km for milling wheat or canola; unless to US mills on occasion. Obviously feed wheat or barley is hauled greater distances.

Filling a last minute need of a buyer is not a good plan for moving the majority of farm production.
I was highlighting that it pays a premium and leaves a guy feeling good about the sale.

Buzz31; can you explain your statement as I am not sure what you mean - God damn wheat board. Sorry but that ship has sailed; what I am asking is what are producers individually doing in this environment to exert market power. Complaining and feeling sorry for ourselves does nothing as far as I am concerned. Maybe you feel there is no additional margin that should be gained by producers.
