    ADM Pissed me Off Today

Took in 1 load of flax... 6.7% moisture.

Had another load, 10.3%. They turned me around said it needed to be dried.

WTF??? If I would have hauled in a superB they wouldn't know and it would have tested 8.

On top of that, they don't use the 919 tester everyone else uses... because that one reads 9.7%. They use a DickeyJohn unit.... and I swear it isn't calibrated properly, it always reads higher than my portable, or 919.

Was it clean of dockage when they tested it?

Always got docked 3% with ADM, would complain and they would sent a chq for about $150.....after reviewing!
Happened 3 times....sold last bit to Cargill...

You see that big bin at ADM? It was full of heated canola only months ago. Most of it was hauled away to the dump. I dont think they can afford to have it heat again. Dry is 10.0 not 10.3 all it takes is one tough load and whole thing goes up in smoke. Anything over 10 has been getting warm on my farm.

We ve been robbed in the billions of dollars and it's getting worse. I know personally some workers at a terminal buying 3 wheat and the farmer getting paid 3 wheat is what I should pay and that wheat going into the 2 wheat bin blended
                  Later. Bushels upon bushels.

This surprises anyone that the grain co's are doing this... I have repeatedly asked here - as farmers what can we do to avoid this to maximize the value of our grain. I get my samples graded by 4 merchants; CGC and a self assessment. I have a pretty good handle on what I have... Here is where I see the problem the grain co will grab all the grain they can at the lowest price first whether it be miss grading; guys who need cash flow; then they look for lowest target prices with volume and quality they need. So please give me some insight on how we now capture a fair price for our grain. My first 20% is sold/moved at what I feel is was a fair price but I locked that prior to harvesting my crop - sorry 20% is all I am willing to hedge prior to having it in the bin. I think it is more luck than anything on this 20%... I was at their mercy if I did not meet spec.
