Every year the US crop is LARGER than initial reports so the prices can be lower for more end user profit! Even in the RECORD BREAKING 2012 US Midwest drought, US crop volume was ONLY off 7% whoppee! What drought?
Our own 2015 dry spell in AB, still prov average canola 36.4 bu/acre, 5 year average 38.7, 6% off, what drought? We had a nearly 20" of rain and barely got over 40! The poor crop always more than made up for by the GREAT crops. If yours is sh*t, it's just a small area. Drought is what we need but way drier than 2012 there and 2015 here. Grain prices will NEVER be better without a huge drop, like 30%, in volume.
Either a conspiracy for cheap food or WOW farmers can grow themselves into losing money. IF BS numbers, later revised up or down depending on the Billionaires market positions.

Instead of blaming others and feeling sorry for ourselves, we can prepare for a less profitable time period.
Land costs vary by area and location but maybe time to back off. Some economists predict many years of low interest rates, not so sure.
For grain farmers, marketing ability not to sell majority of production at lows will be important.
For those with good AgriStability margin, next two or three years look okay but caution after that.
Better ways to reduce risk than just complaining.

This is a global commodity market meltdown that is finally turning-the-heads of equity traders . . . .
From China buyers to the American consumer, belt-tightening is causing a broad-based sell-off from copper to cattle.
