Funny you say that Farma....the vast majority of canola around here that has heated so far was straight cut. It was dry but it wasn't cured.

Straight cut canola dry in 2004/2005/2007.. Had heated canola 2 out of those three years. Soured us from straight cutting. Back then we looked like we were from another planet straight cutting and now look like we are from another planet as we swath and lots are straight cutting.

Not unusual that they named it HEAT then, it does the job as it is called. Man that makes you wonder about storing straight cut!

              2 tandem trucks, 1200 bushels at $10.00/bushel is $12,000.

That's like 3 vacations to Mexico for a married couple.

Yikes! Good thing you discovered it. Sorry to hear. Obviously still respiring.

Time to go drop the temp in the bins some more.

Klause, call Milligan in Foam Lake. Their discounts are dang reasonable.

Guys we straight cut all our canola. However only the stuff treated with HEAT heated... on top of that it's bizzare... by the time I got to Foam Lake oil was dripping out of the trailer. It doesn't even smell burnt it smells like hot canola oil... Was remarked at Milligan on that, and the fact they can't test moisture in it because of all the oil. The seed is completely black inside and out no reddish color, but pretty much every seed is split.

Something in that chemical causes this, and it's not the first time they've seen it at Milligan this year....

Sounds like a weird one but good you moved it out already.
It might be worth a phone call to BASF.

What was the temperature of the heated portion?
