OOPS migrants not welcome

We'll all be economic refugees looking after them. Early immigrants made their own way. Hacked out sod to build prairie homes. Grew their own everything, sewed clothes, made soap, etc.

What will happen here? Beyond the free health care, what other assistance?

There are Canadians over there fighting some of the ****ers these people are fleeing. When I see able bodied men seeking refugee status and think of our people fighting over there it makes me ill.

Sure Justin, bring em in. Clothe em, feed em, check their health. When you do, please explain to the homeless sleeping in cardboard on North Main, in Winnipeg, in January, what they have to do to get the same attention.

Lots of support from Social Services. Many overlapping programs. If the husband "leaves her" with seven kids in Canada, government (you and I),pays big time. All medical and dental, too.

My ancestors came with zip, got NO help, lived like peasants for years, worked for SFA at times, risked all. Definitely no burden on society! Oh ya the west was EMPTY when pioneers came...kind of well set up now.

Not sure how you can even make a comparison like that chuck chuck. The european immigrants of the past came here with nothing and worked hard to make a life for their families and they were willing to live by the laws of the land. This middle east wave have no interest or respect for our laws, they don't want to assimilate, thay want their way of life over here ( which hasn't worked for 2,000 years ) You come to canada you should live like a canadian and respect canadian law. People in the world have become too complacent, we will have to fight for freedom again down the road.

This isn't just a liberal thing, in the last 5 or 6 years look what's happenned in Saskatoon and Regina and even small towns. We were being misled by the numbers being let in. I believe.
Not to mention the oil camps full with undocumented workers no one knows who they are.
Would have been nothing wrong with a safe zone over there. Don't these people care at all about where they come from?

There is a screening process for immigrants and refugees. Canada already brings in 250 to 280 thousand immigrants per year. You won't even notice 25000 more. The risks are overstated. How many people do you personally know killed b y terrorists? How many died in traffic accidents? Traffic accidents and impaired driving are a much bigger threat to most families. Immigration is used for economic reasons to grow the economy and fill jobs that many Canadians won't do. Just ask employers about all the Filipino employees. They generally work very hard and integrate well. if you have'nt noticed Harper and company courted the recent immigrant vote. It didn't work this time. But multicultural Canada is here to stay.

Couldn't agree more.... safe zone in their own countries would be the best. Israel as an example, maybe not the best, but... I don't want their war brought to our shores.

The only one misled about immigration numbers is you, all you have to do is look on the gov. website to know how many immigrants are coming into the country yearly. And how are your illegal imigrants getting in? This isn't the mexican, U.S. border. The numbers are very minimal. And i'll take mexicans, filipinos anyday! Hard working people. And chuck, there are people getting killed in canada by middle east muslims, because the numbers aren't big yet, we're not supposed to be concerned? Weak argument. You should read up on islam.
