women, children and families only Unaccompanied men need not apply...

The federal government's much-anticipated Syrian refugee plan will limit those accepted into Canada to women, children and families only, CBC News has learned.

Sources tell CBC News that to deal with some ongoing concerns around security, unaccompanied men seeking asylum will not be part of the program.

The details of the plan will be announced Tuesday, but already Canadian officials have been working on the ground to process people.

You could likely come up with list of reasons a page long as to why and why not this is a good idea.

It's not a part of my opinionated game plan!
        Lol

It was going to happen regardless who won the election. All these conditions and changes only window dress and side track the overall issue of our self preservation which is what people really need to discuss but can't.

        Go Eskimos!!

$1.2 Billion to bring them in. Where is the money coming from for this project. I want to have carry laws enacted. Need my own protection.

They had an interview on the afternoon on CBC with former head of immigration from the late 90's.
He basically said they can't do all the security checks in that short of time.
Must be planning on doing some screening after they have arrived in Canada.
Also pointed out numerous times that these people are coming from camps and in no danger.
Said he would like to see an accounting of costs as 48K per person seemed very high.
Says that won't work as the ones that don't want any more will disappear.
Was concerned this rushed program will give immigration a black eye.
                    Good,informative interview.
None of the "were just happy, happy, happy, like most of the CBC refugee coverage.
I tried to find the recording to post up but about everything else from the program is there but not that interview.??
Anybody else listen to the CBC?

Something over looked I think, is if a mother and 4 kids(under 16) are coming into Canada, Trudeau only has to do the back ground check on the mother, so only 1 of the 5. This would speedup the process, and maybe this is the liberal strategy.

Would have been way cheaper safer and smarter to leave them over there in safe zone.
1.2 billion is just the starting cost.

Listening to CBC this am...agree with the single men being not considered (at this point), but heard a single fellow from Jordan who felt it was unfair that they were being passed over...and I get it, you could certainly hear the disappointment in his voice, although he was unaware that Canada was taking in refugees before the interview.
I do favor that the refuges being considered are from Jordan and other countries, and had left Syria a few years ago. Doubt many extremists would be in that group...but, would like them to take all the time they need to do a proper screening.

Liberals have admitted the Christmas deadline was crazy.

Extended deadline until end of February.

Hopefully there are no Islamic terrorists in this 25,000.
