Come on. If Freewheat voted liberal how many of you die hard conservatives would have said much the same? A lot has to do about the language and some of you I guess aren't up to be being told things point blank. Free gets a pass on a lot of things because it's the poor young guy struggling on the small farm trying to make a living which everyone is rooting for to make it especially with the diehards due to the no matter what support of the conservatives.
I think some see that if free can make then there is hope for all of us in a system that is increasingly working against the individual farmer. Sort of represents the last stand against big ag.
I'm not cutting you down free as I hope it works for you as well I m simply making and opinion on it all.

But I will say this to bto

There are times when you re up against the wall that you simply cannot make some of the moves you know are the right moves. Especially a smaller farmer now days less and less of the industry want to work with you. From bank to dealers etc etc

Second in some areas and some fields you simply could not get on them so it wouldn't matter if you had 100 machines lined up it wouldn't have worked. The ground hasn't even froze here under the snow. There is lots of crop out everywhere.

As a business decision without a dryer if free has a 30 bushel canola and harvesting in he snow of which I think right now there is so much snow that it's not even possible but if it were harvesting half of 30 is 15 bushels. He has no dryer or aeration so drying that kind of wet and storing it is not easy or inexpensive compared to his 25 wasn't it bushel crop insurance coverage?

And this is my opinion just like yours bto. Cut back on the profanity but the frankness shouldn't be banned.

The only thing I have a problem with is that if it was a "big farmer" struggling people would be almost cheering watching them struggle cause one of the big greedy guys was going down.

I think freewheat should have taken Klauses offer for help. That conventional kitty cat would have purred through that tuff canola.

And by the way BTO I dont think you understand that Wadena isnt plap. Crop comes in a month later. They dont combine in August. Seed canola end of may and its ready to harvest end of sept or beginning of oct.
