Say it isn't so Will! One policy you don't agree with and you're gone?
Seriously though. How do you feel about the WCB OH&S push??
Thinking this is what happens with our head in the sand.

blackpowder: I'm okay with the WCB thingy if it is set up correctly. The fees set by industry standards should be fairly low for farming enterprise IMHO.
But the carbon tax thingy...NO NOT EVER...it won't do anything for us but will just be a hindrance and a royal pain in the ascend until someone DOES AWAY WITH IT.

Why is everyone getting their shorts in a knot over a relatively small increase in the cost of energy for a carbon tax?

We just came through several years of higher energy costs that make the carbon tax look very small and we not only survived we did quite well.

I know that many of you are opposed for political reasons. You don't believe in global warming etc., but increasing energy efficiency is a good business practice.

For example, LED lighting vs the old incandescent? Which one makes the most sense economically? Which one is better technology? LED all the way, especially as the costs of LED come down. Once we convert to entirely LED the savings in energy use will be substantial.

Son in law has a fleet of graders, didn't like the idea of fuel increase, however he did admit him and a worker were discussing systems that would lower fuel consumption....the carbon tax is working.
Years ago I installed livestock fountains that were very inefficient..power was cheap, then came along Alberta's electricity deregulation, made our power very expensive. Have installed an energy efficient fountain that uses 10% of the power....change happened because it hit me in the pocket book. I wouldn't have changed just because it was better...
You can whine all you want, we won't change unless it hits us in the pocket book...I believe they are on the right track with this one, it was only a matter of time..Us old buggers don't like change, suck it and move on princess...although I am not liking the change in the OHS/WCB part....and part of it is understanding it!

I still don't get it and definitely do not buy into this giant scam. Looks like everyone wants to just get lead around by a ring in their nose. Carbon (CO2) is good- necessary for green life as in food. What the frig is wrong with this world? The governments are just too happy cause they can just fleece us for all they want. Revolt! Revolt! Revolt!

Today I have severed all support for the NDP in Alberta AND Canada.

I gave them a chance but they have proven to me that they are not going to be good for Albertans. They can stick their TAX GRAB where the sun don't shine...as the expression goes.

So when gas prices go up 30% for no real reason, do you severe your relationship with fuel companies....?
