The O Zone hole over Antarctica disappeared after R -12 was removed from AC all over the earth.
Any way CO2 is essential to all plant life and the more CO2 the greener earth will be. It is NOT a pollutant!

SAVING THE PLANET ONE ALBERTAN AT A TIME
One hundred percent of Alberta's population is getting what 40%
voted for last May: a ruthless, irresponsible carbon tax and a set of
environmental restrictions that will kick the province's economy a
few more times while it's down.
The amateurish, ideologically-addled Notley (or Nutley in some
circles) administration introduced its save-the-world-climate plan a
week ago, a package consisting of billions in new taxes on every
person and every business in the province, banning coal use for
electricity generation (currently 55% of all Alberta power) and a
cap on the growth of the oil sands sector (the third-largest petro-
leum reserve in the world and the biggest growth engine for the
provincial economy).
A tax on diesel fuel will be imposed at 5.5 cents a litre, rising to
8.8 cents in 2018, and at comparable rates on gasoline, natural
gas and heating oil, rising in the future. A typical large-scale farm
has an annual diesel fuel bill of $80,000 to $100,000, to which the
tax will add about $6,000. Motor fuel taxes were increased in
March by the previous government, eating the benefit of recently
lower crude oil prices. The average household will pay an extra
$320 for home heat in 2017 and $470 by 2018. This tax alone will
suck $3 billion a year out of the provincial economy in 2017 and
$5 billion in 2018, rising in the future at inflation plus 2%.
A carbon tax of $20 a tonne will be imposed economy-wide at
the start of 2017, increasing to $30 a mere year later and therea f-
ter by regular annual steps. Among other things, it will increase
the cost of manufacturing nitrogen fertilizer, raising costs to all
users, including farmers in other provinces. Alberta already has a
cap-and-trade system for large emitters.
The oil sands industry will get an emissions cap of 100 megato n-
nes per year; currently it emits 70 megatonnes. Unless economi-
cally viable and effective methods are found to control emissions,
production will not be allowed to grow after 2030. This stunningly
naive government thinks the industry will invest additional billions
in emissions controls, when it is much more likely that capital will
be diverted out of the sector and to other jurisdictions. Petroleum
investment can go anywhere that it is welcome.
Meanwhile India’s coal production increased by 600 million
tonnes since 2005 and will be expanded by a further 900 milli on to
1.75 billion by 2020. So far this year Chinese utilities received
permits for construction of 155 new coal-fired power plants. If they
weren’t already, other countries with less pants -wetting attitudes to
climate change would be making fools of the Alberta NDP.
Agree or not?

I think the most foolish of these policies will be shutting down coal as a source of base load power. As far as taxes are concerned they have to be collected somewhere and there are better ways of doing it than this but government debt is so big and resource revenue will never be what it once was in this province that taxes will rise to matter what.

Have to love when even the oil
Industry is getting behind a "broad based carbon tax". Screw the consumer.
