Farma,
" if you earn $20/hr and a beer costs $5.00 or you earn $30/hr and that same beer costs you $7.50? Why does everything always have to go up? So lets drop all wages to $10/hr and pay $2.50 for that beer. What keeps driving things up?"
Obama prints $7 Trillion EU in process of $5 Trillion... Japan a couple of trillion$...
Common Sense dictates that with all that currency in Global circulation...causes the prices of everything to rise up to the level of the common global currency float that has been created! No one should be surprised, 1 plus 1 equals 2! 2 plus 2 equals 4... and so goes the world of exponential growth... computers... and the 21st century!

Tom4G3: does "printing" money really mean much with the seemingly limitless available "credit"?
In Canada does physical currency circulation really mean much as compared to available credit? Who pays cash for anything anymore?

Farma...
Currency is NOT about CASH... it is about numbers on a computer screen... and the manipulation of the money supply changes the value of the things evaluated in that currency... ultimately in a basket of currencies as conversions from CDN$ to USD$ or EU$ can be done with the stroke of a keyboard... as fluid as watching water come out of a tap when we turn that tap on.
QE is about money supply... in the past the supplythrottle was controlled by interest rates... now QE has been controlling money supply instead... with central banks in the US and ECU buying unwanted financial instruments to maintain the financial stability of our currency systems. Cash is now a very small part of the overall system...... as there are tight border controls and account monitoring of all currency deposits into bank accounts and market/commodity/stock/currency trading accounts... everything currency related is monitored.
