What? Time to trim the fat? I realize there is a slowdown but these people need to ask themselves ....did I earn my pay today? Did I contribute anything of value today? Someone else also mentioned taking extended periods of time off, weeks and weeks of holidays on top of sick days and weekends and stats, and if the Company can continue to operate without them how valuable are they? Can one person effectively and functionally do the work of two or three, with in reason?

So the gravey train is going off the rails, less free cash flow, keep an eye out for your "reality check"....it may be the only check you will be getting. If I wasn't "indespensible", I'd be nervous!

Talked to accountant yesterday....lots of "used to be" oil field workers taxes above 250k, safety consultants higher...it was time something levelled the playing field.

Perfecho i know some people paying those kinds kind of in ome taxes. those lost income taxes pulls down the income for the feds and province. How are they going to replace that? Thats is the big dilemma.
Naturally no one is going to take a lesser wage, they might as well take a year of EI and be home before seeking out a "lesser" occupation.

Exactly there is one industry distorting wages and setting what ever price they want due to callusion to get those wages in order to make the rest of re population think wow isn't this good for the economy all those taxes except everyone not in that industry pays the cost of those distorted wages.
