    Speaking of dams:
I know to some this is "wishy washy", but as I get older, my thinking is changing...there really is a greater good...everything shouldn't revolve around some corp making money...and as more of the common class dip into equities, it is even more prevalent.
See both sides of this one, but starting to lean towards the "greeny" side...

We don't need to flood anything. There are all kinds of existing dams in Ontario, either for ice control or abandoned sawmill or gristmill dams, that can be retrofit with a small scale turbine that will make lots of power without affecting anything

dalek, I've thought the same - why not spend some money on refurbishing and equipping those old dams and turning them into an electricity source that runs 24/7/365 instead of when the wind blows or the sun shines?

I don't know much about it but I would think that those dams could have been set up for a small fraction of the cost of the greed energy scheme that the McWynnty Liberals miscreated.

Even some of the smaller dams would put out more electricity than a solar panel. And produce 100% of the time.

Too practical, maybe, and far less opportunity for the colossal scale of graft that accompanies the Liberal style?

There are 2-3 that have been done here and seem to work great with a relatively small pricetag. I guess the water turbine manufacturers must suck at "lobbying" or something

Dams seem to make sense, until they are in our back yard....
