This looks like a great show.
I watched a few of the previews.

    This will air on Discovery?

It is not a loss of families in community, when 5 cousins/families decide to farm together. No different than 5 different 3,000 acre farms.

The farm on Crop Kings had a dairy, as well as an investment in hogs. Work hard. Some play hard as my son in law races motocross on their farm.

Re large farms making interesting TV, one show we favour is "Alaska, The Last Frontier". The Kilchers homestead in Alaska would make Rachel Notley's psycho socialists go nuts with all the safety violations. But it's about a family with a small self sufficient farm that make it and are happy, happy, happy.

Calling Freewheat, do you have a face for TV?
Turn that mud into money, money, money!

Very different than 25 600 acre farms in the 60's, larger families, busy small towns, full schools, rinks, churches. Zip happening now, the country side is empty.

You have a lot not to be sad about fj.
Id trade ya. Farmers perspectives get kinda narrow sometimes i guess.
Havent seen tv show. Sounds like awesome idea. As close as most are gonna get.

Fj. 4 families on 15000 ac is not a huge farm. You should be glad there are these massive operations are around. They drive up the price of land. When you sell out or rent out you and your heirs will do very well because of astute farmers like the ones featured in this video. Wealth creators.

I hope it airs on TV. Think it is good to showcase a well run progressive operation with a good cooperative family structure as it is good for public perception. So much negative misinformation out there. Often thought there should be a show about our farm but it would end up looking like axemen or gold rush. Heck a 3 mile cattle drive down a road could make for a half hour episode on TV.

Add enough personal confrontation, drama, suspense, contention, and lots of bleeping out profanity and you may get a wide scope of an audience.

The big farming machine has a very short life span, as evidenced in the last few years, but for sure there are some huge robust family generational operations that look mighty impressive. From what I see there's room for all farming experiments and its a great world we live in.
