    Competition for Hobby

A new competitor on the organic supply front?

This could be game changer for sure. It is posible because not every Russian farmer has experienced the advantages of retailers with sheds full of crop protection products available in a timely manner.
I just contracted new crop oats, so I should be ok for at least one more year.

That crap would be just as "organic" as the stuff coming from China.

Maybe just have to change the definition of ORGANIC. Just like the definition of conventional farming changes with farming practices.

The black Sea is already a big source for organic grain. I think it's great if they grow organic grain, keeps conventional product off the market.

A person has too wonder how reputable the organic certifying bodies are in the third world or hell even 1st world countries. Lots of fraud out there all the way up the chain. Scary as hell to go through the 36 months of transiton only to have the Russians flood the market with 'organic'. Many farmers here may want to capatalize but probably can't afford the hardships of transition. Who knows what the organic premium is 3 years from now? I applaud anyone with the balls to convert.

There is NO detectable difference in the organic grain/food, other than price. 100% trusting the label. And suspicion is the killer to satisfaction.

History says that a production system based on suspicion, superstition and "feelings" rather than science will come to an end.
Has lasted longer than some expected, going to be interesting to see what factors hasten its demise.

A bit of an oxymoron, when you see on a food label "organic and product of china".
