    Alberta farmers go too far

Death threats against your premier probably isn't the way to garnish public support. True red neck albertans.

I think it took about 2 days until Hitler was brought up in one 9f the speeches. I have no skin in this game but I probably wouldn't be a fan of bill 6 either but the way the Alberta farmer is coming off in this fight is not good. The speakers seemed like they should of been vetted better and the vitriol kept under wraps.

What are they supposed to do?
All peaceful demonstrations have been a waste of time. She isn't listening, maybe we need another farm group to lobby them,,, a little more western attitude wouldn't be all bad.
Since Remembrance Day when we were supposed to remember the sacrifices made for us to live in a free country we've had so much shit rammed down are throats it makes me sick.

Relax. The progressive lefties have spooked the extremists and the media plays to it. Funny they cry on it and ask for justice. Seems all the social media calls for the assassination of our most recent pm are now reposted as reference for us to all see again but never warranted any mesh coverage never mind criminal investigations.

Fact of the matter is the ndp's so called labour appeasement disguised as safety agenda was a disaster and this a strategy to deflect and blame. They have awoken the apathetic rural voter and beat up on the oil patch. This will be the last and only term for them lol.

Yup, thousands of peaceful protests province-wide, but they'll brand us all because of a few idiots. Fair and balanced....not

It's democracy Goodrum. Minority interests are not going to get the result they want every time - in a democracy the majority interest is the one catered to, always has been - always will be.
The demonstrations did achieve substantial change to the proposed legislation from what we can see. As good as you could have reasonably expected I'd say.
One thing that has been noticeably absent in this debate has been the farm workers views - how much voice or coverage have their views been given? That seems wrong to me.

They found every farmworker that they could that wanted this legislation. Fact is Grassfarmer there were very few.

How many farm workers would have been comfortable speaking up even if they were in favour in this environment per?

Don't know GF but in the day of the phone and internet it wouldn't be hard to find a voice. I have talked to a fair bunch of farm workers that are pretty happy with the way life is. Pretty hard to treat a guy badly given we all live in the same community and our kids go to the same schools and we compete with the O and G industry for staff. Up until recently there were plenty of other places to work if you weren't happy.

Per good points. I never ask my employees to do anything I won't. I have a Mexican Mennonite fella working for me. Doesn't work Sundays, no problem. Gets just about every day off that he wants. I give him yearly raises and a year end bonus. He has been with me four years and sounds like again next year. We try to have fun at work.

However some of the canadian employees are entitled from day one and after three weeks want to schedule my day for me. I suggest they may be over qualified for the job.

Employ two Mexican Mennonites on our farm as well and it can sometimes be a struggle to work around all there religious holidays especially when they mostly fall during the seeding season. Every employee seems to come with there own baggage but it all comes down to how you value there strengths or dwell on there weaknesses. Currently employ a non-Mennonite 30 year old that has a passion for agriculture and find myself willing to build upon his skills more so than the other two simply because of his dedication to the principle of, " making hay when the sun shines".
