Someone has to deal with the additional segregation rules the are bound to come with this nonsense.
Not many elevators are designed for additional separation.
And really why?
Gluten should have been a determining factor 20 years ago.
Look at a wheat ancestry chart sometime and see where some of these varieties fit in.

No masters nor should there be in a democracy.
That's the problem people in decision making position like the cgc or politicians and their staff think I work for them.
Their attitude is ****ed.
And until someone starts mentioning that they work for us we will continue down a shitty path.

Is there going to be any more classes than there used to be, because that would cause increased segregation costs?
Since you automatically assume the CGC is doing it to screw the farmer, I'd suggest that maybe it's your attitude that sucks bucket.

If the changes are there to help farmers and because it's a government agency dictating the changes then maybe I can change my Lillian seed bushel for bushel for new hrsw seed.
Why is it the changes cost me every time.
Seems to me canada is competing against lower quality all the time from the black Sea.
What's the point in having cwrs and canadian northern hard red?

Yes there will be more classes.
The problem is, the new class will include varieties that are not visually distinguishable (KVD) and come directly from the major wheat class CWRS. Some of the varieties are the most popular CWRS varieties and they are very widely grown and much of the land/ bins/ equipment is contaminated with those classes.
Right now we have control over mixed classes through our grading system that allows for Wheats of other classes (WOOC) How is anyone going to control and be liable without doing a DNA on every sample.
Farmers affidavit isn't going to do it any more than it did in the Triffid flax fiasco.

If the cgc wants to do something innovative... how about sitting down and making north American grades. Borders won't matter. Varieties for both sides of the border. Imagine the resource saving on research.
Different classes but nothing graded by a falling number? An international standard.
Shit what a bad attitude I have. Bad kool-aid today. Full tin foil suit.
