    Entertainment

Lots of good entertainment doing the rounds at the moment. Enjoyed this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiKZCD6dXh8

Almost as good as the Alberta farmer that posted to facebook a picture on his phone while driving his tractor down the highway in the dark to attend a Bill 6 protest.
The irony that Bill 6 is about farm safety clearly went right over his head. Priceless.

Every one is laughing at the doomsayers and the alarmists who are trying so hard to be so earnest so that they can come home and impose a tax on a non existent problem and say hey look at us we really care. Then they go on ignoring real problems like jobs and the economy.

I get a kick out of the "comedian" in grassfarmer's link, who mocks the politician for linking a single "cold event" as some kind of proof there isn't global warming, and then proceeds to use a "warm event" in the same "skit" as proof that there is global warming.

Too many Chicken Littles who think they know it all. I have a hard time with all the bullying that seems to come from those who says that "the science is settled", when the science is far from clear, let alone settled. Too many politicians trying to play scientist.

Farm Ranger didn't you get it ? that was the whole point - setting the odd hot day against the odd cold day to show that it's not a "weather" problem it's a "climate" problem.

So Grassfarmer, how does sending 2.5 billion to African dictators improve the situation?
And just as an aside, don't those same people consider a kickback to be part of every deal.
          I don't get the connection.
Wouldn't the 2.5 billion be better spent kick starting our green energy program rather than disappearing into the unknown with no obvious benefit to our struggling economy?
          Were all happy happy happy!
          But getting a little nervous.

im thinking that all this money will not end up where it is supposed to go In my mind most of it goes to political connections and never leaves Canada.

Foreign aid for whatever pretext is a transfer of wealth from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries.

The money won't be handed to African dictators it will go to an organisation called the Green Climate Fund. You can check it out at greenclimate.fund

The projects when approved will likely be coordinated by NGOs in the same way that UN humanitarian aid often is. I have some knowledge of this as my brother-in-law and wife are in the humanitarian aid field with the UN. They are the hands on people that organize the work having been on the ground in East Timor, Afghanistan, Beirut and currently Nepal. It's amazing how much these people can do even while war is going on around them. Their job is difficult and calls for great diplomacy as they were dealing direct with the warlords in Afghanistan for example to get help to the people that need it.

So it's not as simple as handing money over to dictators, there is a system and a plan and people in place to make it happen. Just as our knowledge and skills are in agriculture there are people who do this kind of stuff for a living and life mission.

I think it is right that we look beyond our own backdoor, there is so much real poverty in the world, people going hungry and their crops failing for want of what is only pocket change to us as individuals. We are so incredibly wealthy and spoiled in this country in comparison.

This whole topic needs a tinfoil hat. Conspiracies at every turn. Seen a report on the news tonight that mentioned Ag as a fairly large offender Along with BIG oil...maybe every one of those bastards need to freeze hungry in the dark! Quit pointing the ****ing finger at Industry at every turn....ask yourself what you have done to reduce YOUR carbon footprint. Does little Johnny need to be driven to the rink to go to hockey camp in the heat of summer? Does Phoenix need a ****ing hockey team (where there IS NO WINTER). What a ****ed up society....take some damn responsibility yourself. ...go chop some wood to heat your house, open the damn windows in the summer and grow a ****ing garden, milk a cow and raise pigs and chickens....have a nice day!!!

Absolutely farmaholic, I agree that a lot of the solutions are simple and everybody can be doing them. Lot's don't see the need though. I think this article makes a good read, it certainly rings true to me:

Noble causes should and shall remain noble. But so many result in packing water to the ocean.

Oh my goodness, Grassfarmer - Monbiot? I have tried to see you as having greater intelligence than that!

George Monbiot, who could not defend his views on the Munk Debate. Monbiot, who received a rebuke from the nuclear science community. Monbiot, who names Canada as a "real villain" and leading contributor to AGW!

Of all people to reference as authoritative on environmental issues - you lean on that incredible envirogoon!!! LOL!

And you think Ezra Levant or Alberta farmers are good for their entertainment value!

Wow. You sure picked a winner for a someone who "rings true".

                        Entertainment, for sure! Hilarity reigns!

However, this time you have become the object of it. (-:

I liked the article. I made sense to me. Ever since we were children we have been influenced by television and radio advertising that we can "get" anything we want.
When we goto McDonalds with children, they give us a completely useless chunk of plastic that provides absolutely zero value to this earth.
Same radio advertising, Rally Motors, PA selling snowmobiles said something like "even if your broke, you need to have a little fun".
This is in the morning while kids are preparing for school.

I'm with hobby on this one....I have no idea who Monbiot is, but liked the message.

Like drones for farming....their advertising slogan should be..."For the guy who has everything!!!"
