It's time to force bio fuels to the top ...

There is no use fighting the fossil fuel haters .
Let's use this opertunity to force the use of at least 50% canola bio diesel and 50% wheat ethonal. Mr Trudodo can't refuse it now - we have to cut emissions and fossil fuels , this does it quickly and efficiently . Let's fire up the bio fuel charge again - before we get squished into the mud .

I agree, time to jump on the crazy train. If you can't beat 'em join'em. Same with no til and the carbon sink created. Possibly time to stop pushing back. The people have spoken regarding our federal election and we can all see what is coming. Will our energy be better spent embracing it and try to fit in, or keep complaining. Everyone thought the two old coots in balcony on the muppets were funny, but no one really liked them.

I'd like to see getting paid fair value for cap and trade sequestering on land. Make it meaningful and it may open up buying opportunities on land. Know of a number of bush parcels locally for sale, no road access, lots of rock outcroppings, for chump change. If you could get paid even $10/acre/year, it would make some of these otherwise junk properties be worthwhile investments.

Thats right carbon neutral. Crop takes in C02 from atmosphere and your spark plugs set it free to grow another crop. Smells like daisies when it combusts.

          Good ideas.
Now that the federal government is now ran by Eco-loons we should try to get a cut of the "green" money crazy train.

          Ethanol
          Biodiesel
          Minimum till carbon sinks

If you think they'll let you keep the money from this scam you're dreaming in technicolor. You'll pay it all back with interest in energy taxes / carbon taxes / save Mother Earth taxes, etc.
Only the jet setting elites will make money, the rest of us will pay in cash directly or through the reduced economic activity harming our incomes.

It's obvious though that the push for climate change in the establishment is reduced co2 , well bio fuels do that . People will pay or be forced to more for bio fuel than gluten free or not free bread - I am still confused about that . Tom still won't answer my question , do people want strong gluten or gluten free and what hrsw varieties should we grow????
Anyway , to hell with hrsw , let the black sea area supply hrsw for our bread market - I am sure their wheat is as good as ours .... As we have to price accordingly
Let's jump on this bio fuel and ride this horse and do our part to save the planet. In the mean time third world countries can supply our quality wheat and reap the benefits of higher incomes - offset this money transfer they want .
Lol - this may not be that far off kilter ...

Any carbon tax is going to eventually apply and affect all forms of oxidation of carbon with an end product of CO2

This is about finding alternatives to present sources of energy that don't produce CO2.

But of course we'll have to allow producing more CO2 to manufacture those windmills and solar panels because probably one aluminum smelter would soak up all the energy that Sask solar production will ever produce.

Planners are forgetting the difference between watts and megawatts (or gigawatts) and the necessity of dependable continuous supplies that will soon become apparent. And the power of doubling. Some will remember that one.

And when the oil industry is wound down; and when it takes more energy to produce clean coal than it produces; and the utopia of perpetual motion and infinite free energy is still a fairy tale; and energy demands can't be met and costs are exhorbitant...then how will real needs be addressed.

That requires alternate plans and not all people are totally expecting or depending on this momentum that now has critical mass to have a soft landing .

Most people YES... all people No

That doesn't mean they don't have a plan that just might get them through; despite being labelled cynical, disengaged, left wing, negative, trouble makers, offensive or whatever.

Furrow, how much is your idea going to cost me in regulation, both monetarily and hand tying? Careful where you go with that one.... your vertical tillage tool may have just dropped to 25% of its current value. SF3 will have to go into raising cattle. Maybe every piece of self propelled equipment will have to have the highest tier emission system on it before your "green energy grain" would qualify? Careful now.....

Actually would not 90% of the current emission b/s on new equipment not be needed with bio diesel from canola oil??

Hydro Quebec published the following interesting study on electricity costs in North America. Ontario is in the middle of the pack and not much higher than Saskatchewan. Manitoba and Quebec are some of the lowest because of Hydro which is a form of renewable energy.

Ontario made some big mistakes but costs for green energy are coming down which will make it competitive with fossil fuels. China is investing more than Europe and the USA combined in solar and wind.

If you start with a negative attitude it is difficult to see the opportunities for improved technology. The change is already under way.

We won't replace fossil fuels for a long time but we can use less of them.

We can use a lot less fossil fuels very fast - legislate at least 50% bio fuels . It can be done right now and implemented within a very short time.
An instant reduction in green house gasses at their fingertips - and its renuable

Mandate 100 percent ethanol tail pipe emmissons would be completely non toxic greenies could wrap lips on exhaust pipe and get a buzz. Could also make a mean screwdriver right at fuel pump.
