End of air conditioning

Too humid and now TOO dry, got all your humidifiers running?
AC in house needed about 10 days max here, global COLD zone 355 days a year. We have a COOL lower level, and the COOL shop to work in summer.
Now a great efficient furnace, runs HALF the year,

I like to keep those types of decisions simple 'round here.

When the wife says we need A/C, we god damn have A/C, and lots of it.

Hey, here's a novel thought, why not just leave it on, be nice and comfortable and then TAX it!!

Have friends in town that have a perfectly controlled temperature of 21C in their house year round. In summer the air-con runs all day and the furnace runs all night. The next day it repeats. Still, she is never happy.

We were at a friends house last week. They keep the daytime heat at 68 degrees. By the time I came home, I need a hot bath. Our house stays at 75 degrees all day, all winter. Our heat bill runs about $150/month, but we aren't about to shiver our way to the grave.
