    Land Line Phones?

Just wondering how many have given up there landline phone and rely entirely on there cell. Myself, I have a hard time to give it up for two reasons, privacy, and dependability. what are others thinking??

We still use land line, as cell service at times is goofy...

Agree, important business info and private family matters all on land line. A good friend of mine warned me he knew of some of my neighbours with scanners that monitor cell phone. Even on my remote for the landline, I say wait a minute while i go to the hard line.
I have real estate agents living close to me on each side. Quarter mile each way.

SCC ruled that since cell phone signals travel through air it is not an infringement on our charter rights to intercept and record cell conversations without a wiretap warrant.

Still use land line as cell coverage is not reliable and am only 3.5 miles from a tower...

The way Bell has cut back on maintenance here cell is actually more reliable. I've seen trees that have grown around the Bell lines like an old wire fence. Cell only for 3 years

Dropped the land line this summer. I replaced it with a smart phone. Hubby wasn't convinced it was a good idea until the day I was in the field with him, checked the radar, got him to stop cutting hay, and swictchto baling in time to save a field. Now he's a believer.

It didnt save us any money though. No regrets.

We have to have a landline, we have such pathetic cell service. I don't even have a cell plan, I just buy minutes for my flip, yes, flip phone. Why have a smart phone with no service?

Still have a landline, cell is for emergency, or out in the field.

What amazes me is the fact that the infrastructure for it is being maintained to the degree it is. Wonder at what percentage of abandonment does the system collapse?

Wish we could get rid of land line but next to no cell service and we are 15 miles from Yorkton.
Best joke was a few years ago when new Rhein tower was put up and we got this lovely letter saying how our cell service would be world class. About all it does if it uses Rhein is make it a long distance call!!
What really pisses me off when we get this ad literature in mail wanting us to buy into the next great thing for service that Sasl tel is selling

Allis, exactly. 4G 5G 6G, sign up for this, sign up for that, sasktel is the best.

Most days I would not mind having a single bar of service. Third world service on a flat landscape is unacceptable. Actually, most third world countries have better service.

Yes single bar causes a lot of excitement around here. Get all of your texts for 2 days all at once plus all the ones you thought were sent go thru.
Have been to 3rd world countries and yes they have better service. To get a landline in some of these countries could take up to 5 years and is not affordable. Cell service is no problem and very cheap.
