It was obvious, but I missed it

So I hear commentator Paul Martin mention the reason Wynne is pushing so hard for enhanced CPP is to offload the cost of unfunded pension liabilities onto all Canadian employers and employees.

Ontario has a mess of unfunded liabilities and the enhanced canada pension plan reduces payouts from defined benefit pensions. So instead of union employees kicking in their fair share they pick everyone else's pockets.

Nothing noble in her action, just self serving.

A week ago the eastern Liberals in the media party were pushing hard to get unanimous support for CPP changes.

BC and Saskatchewan are not interested in CPP changes, hopefully our provinces can avoid this boondoggle.

The other aspect of this was provinces with elderly populations would get more money transferred there way from provinces like AB with younger populations. The current AB depression may change that a bit but when the enhanced CPP was hatched it was not. Everything in Canada is about transferring wealth.

except if that wealth is generated in Ont. or Que. then it MUST stay there because they generated it.
