            A good basis signals the time to deliver.

            High futures signals the time to price.

            Why is the basis improving:
            - farmers not delivering
            - exporter sales opportunity (China, Pakistan,or others, domestic crush, ...)
            - low inventories (on farm or commercial)
            - competing oils strength (soy or Palm)
            - low cdn dollar
            - is this a continuation of trend or change
